Good morning all!!

 

Thanks to the group that I met up with last night! I had a fun ride and did learn a thing or 2 about my Monster.

 

Now I just have to find the owner's manual to learn the more basic stuff. =p

 

And does anyone know where I can find a 'Ignition, tank and seat lock/key set? I want to change the entire set on my bike as I'm having problems with it. I can practically turn on my bike, take out the key, and ride it keyless! The only lock that's working fine is my tank. But I'll change the whole darned set anyway.

Also, anyone has the manual (or links to it online) for my Monster 400? Please help me. Thank you!

Let's just say...if you have 10k to spend you can get a 400 that costs about 7K and you can ride it for maybe the next 2-3 years with that 10k. Not including cosmetic or performance mods and repairs if you get into an accident.

Does your friend ride bicycles, scooters or 125 cc bikes? Monster servicing is comparable to other bikes of its category, unless you choose to bling it. Just like any other bike, a well maintained monster will serve you well for many years. If you prefer a bike without character, you(and your friend) may choose to go jap and get a super four instead;) Hope it clarifies.

We got a mat here who use to ride a M900... he also never say it cost a bomb. :angel:

It depends on how much you pay for the m400 in the first place and how much the previous owner did. buy cheap you will pay for it in the end. buy a well maintained m400. no worries. pump petrol and change oil every 5k km. Same goes for all bikes. Basically, most of us here would have spent $2k and above within first year on parts, spares, repair, bling, maintenance. When does Italian ever come cheap?
