Timing Belt is replaced every 20,000km, costs about $50 plus. Very important piece of equiptment, to keep those wonderful Desmo valves working in harmony!

So far doing my 2nd service, but this time is major service. I clock about 2000-3000 a month, so service intervals is about 3 months.

Get your valve clearances checked every 10,000km. Its a simple, preventive maintenance procedure which doesn't take long, only need to replace the valve cover gaskets which don't cost much also. But if valve clearances need to be adjusted, then its gonna cost more labour and parts of course.

A question that I need help and advice on; has anyone installed sliders on their Monsters yet? What do you guys think? It seems to me that the tank is too wide for sliders to make any difference anyway.

BTW, what are the mods that you guys have done? e.g. tail chop etc.

Cheers

Opps .... just noticed this niche for Duke (or Ducks) Monster riders. Well, nice to have a niche.

I've just asked about a Monster mod that I hope other Monster riders can give some input on ... here it goes:

Anyway, how game are you guys on a meet-up? Something simple, can be a drink at KFC Kallang (now that Nicholl is open). It'll be good for other guys (and gals) who are interested in Dukes to come on down and check out these rides.

If we're game on this; then perhaps we'll have the meet-up on Friday nite, say 10 or so. Do post your views on this.

Cheers

I'm doing night shift this coming week, so I'll only be able to make it on Saturdays.

Anyway, sliders, I'm looking into it. Hope to get my bike back from the shop soon. I did drop my bike once due to grease/diesel on the road, luckily the handlebar turned in the direction of the fall, so the brake lever (lucky didn't break) and balancer took the damage instead of the tank...

I'd be damn pissed if I dent the tank!
