my doggie oso will go wild the moment she goes out..... have tried many ways to try to make her behave but to no avail.....

she is extremely obedient and lovable at home , but once go out, will behave like a crazy dog, straining at her leash to chiong ahead, making breathless sounds, and barking at nothin in particular........ jus behaving as though she is overly excited.... headache.... always makin me the centre of attention!! :giddy:

hi mc21 i had a similar case to yrs... i got complained as well the diff is i have more dogs thn u hahaha.... ok now the best thing to do is to find a temp home for both dogs... btw is yr dog licenced ? this is very important. i had to licence all my dogs coz the pesky neighbour downstairs kpkb until they came up wif the authorities and scolded my mom... knn to them... anyway... the safest bet is this for now... when they(AVA) come... say u help to look after yr relative's dogs..to buy time..

dogs usually bark cos they want attention .. they are like kids .. they cant verbally tell you what they want so best thing for them to do is to bark .. could be cos'

1. bored. need company

2. hungry

3. thirsty

You should probably be at home with the dog and incite him to bark e.g leave him alone in the room and when he does that, you can use a muzzle to muzzle him for 5 mins or so... then repeat it over and over till he learns to not bark when you are not around .. tiring process, dog training ... but in the long run, it pays off

its something like a cover to strap onto the dog's mouth,

normally to prevent them 1) from barking, 2) to attack ppl on the streets if they are really fierce. but some oso use it to prevent the dogs frm licking the wounds in the body if they have medication.

I used to use cane when my dog was younger.

After years and some discipline actions, I use my voice.

A firm sharp call to his name, my dog will normally shut up.

Or change to rearing cats? Cats are quieter and their meows are cute. :cheeky:

Go borrow somw Dog training n handling books frm the libary they r very useful i trained my sheltie frm the books n it wrk very well but u'll have to follow the instructions very closely to achieve the required results like

* sit

*stay

*stop

*down

*No Barking

*Bad Boy

*Go Home

*Heel

*toilet(the place where he rests at nite) HeeHee

*balcony

recogonised the name of my 2 kids when i called out it will go to their rooms n bark at them till they follow him

got my dog at 8 mths old they said it's kindda old liao to train him but i succedded but it's hard wrk for both man n dog, i used the praise, reward(food) and punishment way(rolled up newpaper to whack) it will spread out the impact wun injured the skin like a cane wld if hit too hard(accidentally)

training has to be repeating even after it has learn if not used that command for a long time they will 4get frm there u can move on to hand signals which i am doing now...... my dog is 4 yrs old now good luck it's cheapest way to train n u get lotssa satisfactions in it but again if u have the patient :cheeky: took me 2 over years but done slowly not intensive

u wan fast result send to obedient sch can cost abt 1K but well trained still u have to be there at certain times n follow up after their trainingbut very effective Good Luck Have fun wif ur DOG ........... n friend.....:thumb:

yup.. got muzzles for small dogs .. mine's a miniature pinscher ... thers this type wher the mouth area can b adjusted to fit the mouth part ...

hitting the dog in some ways helps but my dog will get more agressive at times when I hit him .. I mean at the time when I hit him he won't be agressive nd wants to attack or bite me but when he does something wrong and I want correct him, he'l bite to retaliate, thinking I want hit him .. so I hit him only when he realloy has gone too far ... or juz a light smack to warn him I mean business ... he noes I do

not easy to train by yourself..... got to be really patient and spend a lot of time. if go for obedience training, trainer will teach u correct method and when it does not work on ur dog, he will recommend alternatives to correct the dog's mistake. basic obedience up to off-leash level is about 10 weeks........ but gotta spend more $$$ lah!

some school of thoughts use treats to train, some use choke chain, some use semi-choke chain...... each has its own advantages and disadvantages.... end of the day results will prove everything. :thumb:
