I'm torn apart between

Alpinestars SMX 2 Air Carbon Motorcycle Street Glove

and

Alpinestars Octane S Moto Glove

anyone came across the prices for this two gloves.

Appreciate your help.

Got the Octane from one of those MO for $100. Regina should be selling at between $150 - $180 (not too sure though)... Its a good pair of gloves. Served me for 2 years before it finally tears up... :thumb:

Just to check, is all alpinestars gloves made in china?

mustafa basement sport section got leather glove (tested and proven) water proof and warm. only 12$.

only that it's not motorcycling glove so not easy to move ur thumb (for horn and signal) and fingers (gear/break) when u grip ur handle.

but long rides ok..

it's something like winter gloves.. not riding gloves, but water proofing tested on NSH.

looks like this..

There are many but fitting to a budget of under S$100 is a bit hard. Under that budget, the gloves are waterproof but yours hand will sweat a lot, and without any ventilation for the sweat to escape, I can bet that once after every ride, your gloves will have water and will smell over time. Usually gloves that are waterproof, do not have adequate protection. And gloves with protection, are not waterproof..haiz...why can't they merge these together.

You may want to invest in something that is long lasting. Remember quality does not come cheap. See this. http://www.alpinestars.com/pl/c/143.html it shows the range of AlpineStars Goretex and Drystar models.

There is an MO going on till end of Mar 2008. Great deal on the pricing for those branded gloves. As for the winter gloves, they can be good but lacks the protection, as not made for riding. Think about it.

As for me, given up on waterproof gloves, get the textile model, if wet then hang out to dry. Do not get Leather, leather a bit difficult to dry and may harden over time.

correction on my previous post about waterproof gloves.

this winter leather gloves failed me this time for waterproof.. may be long hour of riding in rain and rain was really heavy, may be different riding posture ?

first time i used this gloves was on phantom, so speed was about 120 max, and no pressure on handle bar as sit back posture, so this gloves are ok and waterproof. i rode about 2 hours in rain..

this time round on super4, speed was about 160 and had to grip onto handle bar and grip it tight, finally my hands are all wet... :( (luckily no black hands though)
