Hi new to this thread. Can anybody comment on which glove to wear for long distant touring.

Sure! You'll get lots of advice, here's my 2cents' worth:

Light full leather gloves. Don't really need the bangs and whistles of knuckle protection etc unless you're racing all the way of the tour. We want comfortable, flexible, mid-speed protection. best if fully covered w/o any exposed parts so that your hands don't get sun burnt at the "holes". One that covers the wrist is good.

i used to use half-fingered knitted-back leather-palmed gloves day in, day out, (yes, old-school) but ended up with hands that looked like I had measles! :-D

Leather, if wet in a rain, I just leave it hanging over the engine and it dries fast. Washing and Oiling/conditioiing it regularly will keep it lasting for years.

(My touring background: 3 months on the road solo self-supported sleeping in a tent 2/3 of the time.)

Hope this helps!

I'm looking for affordable leather gloves. Where can I find them? Knuckle protection not necessary.

I'm using Fox Bomber for local riding. Value for money, quite comfortable too.

There used be a shop selling HELD gloves at katong area but has already closed down in 2004. Buy online/Ebay

I would totally be interested in a pair of Held gloves as well - but don't really want to spend without trying them on for size. I wear Komine size 3XL, even though my hands are not as big as what the Komine size chart suggests - following the charts I should get XL, but even 2XL is too small for me.

I have a new pair of Held Calibur gloves - size 9-L. Feel free to try it for size before you buy online - PM if interested

I bought based on online size charts and L was a bit too big for me!
