my camp is jurong camp and i kehna punctured by metal blade and nail 2 times within one week. think people sabo me lor. cos nice nice inside the groove. what i did was put on mainstand (if your bike has) so as not to let too much air leak out (applicable for rear tires). Ride to petrol station and pump harder than usual. ride to bike shop and get it done.

tell them you dont want to use "injections" to patch...those kinds will only make the hole larger over time...

i work in a tyre company...and i never use those kind of patching for my own tyres...

i always insist that my tyre be patched from the inside with patches...

Can tell me which shop doing patch from inside ? Thanks.

just want to ask, if let say a bike get punctured during high speed riding (90kmh), so bike will get lost control and definitely buang?

if tubeless, wont.

tube.. maybe.. cos the tube just burst ur whole tyre suddenly become inflated.. but stil.. u can handle one i think..

brake on the front more not too hard, drop gears, handlebar straight, lock ur arms.. try to control the drift for awhile.. and it will stop pretty soon..

unless the object is so huge and damagable to ur tyre that ur tyre explode and leak out all the air..

if not the object will jus stuck onto ur tyre and u will feel ur bike handling weird.. maybe like easy to slide(eg metal thing on ur tyre)..

or u feel some drag.. something dragging u back..

Hi, is there anyone knows of any motor shop which can do the "tire repair patch from inside" method? Moderator "Ones_Co" had recommended "bike werk @ east side" in a post above but I couldn't locate this advertiser nor its address in the SBF forum.

I need to do the repair patch from inside because my rear tire is presently leaking from a same old patch done previously using the "injection" (or worm) method.

I had gone to Mah Motors and they also told me that the only solution now is to use the "patch from inside" method. Both of us agreed that my tire, which still has over 75% of life left, is too new and wasteful to be discarded. Unfortunately, they also don't have the facility to do the "patch from inside" method.

Any kind forumer who had done this kind of repair before, or any recommendation, please help. Thanks.

Usually only car tyre shops will carry out such patching.

I'm not sure if they will do or know how to do for motorbikes.

I only use the services of Khai Wah Battery & Tyre Pte Ltd. They have a few outlets in Singapore, for patching, I go to the one at 421 Race Course Road.

there are two ways u can do IMO. A leaking at patched area is normally a VERY small hole already. Happens to me b4 & what I did was, inject those tire chemical that sells in the spray can. It lasted the seal till the end of my tire life. Cheap cheap, Abt $10 u can get any hypermarket / DIY shop.

Sample like this;

http://upload.ecvv.com/upload/Product/200812/China_TIRE_REPAIR_SPRAY200812121041288.jpg

OR U can buy those 'koyok' type of patch 1st & bring it to the bike shop & ask them to patch it for u (as most bike shop does not carry such 'koyok')

It's a bit tricky to patch it, the internal surface of the tire hv to be roughen 1st, then apply the supplied vulcanizer (spelling?), the rubber specific glue b4 patching it. Otherwise it wont stick for long to the 'waxy' tire surface. Hope this help.

Thanks valkaholic for your valuable information. I managed to get it done at Kallang Ave. The motor shop removed and later re-installed my rear wheel, cost S$20. I then brought it opposite to the tire shop to internally patched (koyok style) for 2 holes, but 1 is actually not leaking, for S$12. Total damage is S$32. Hope that it will last, otherwise (touch wood), will have to change the whole tire the next time. Thanks to all who had advised me.

However, I'm not too keen on the chemical tire sealer method because it'll make the internal circumference of the rim very "gluey" and may be difficult to remove in future.

Sure, the shop which does the labour works is Tai Hin Enterprise (Blk 4, No. 104 Kallang Avenue, Tel: 62947997). The tire shop for patching is just opposite Tai Hin, called Ban Huat (I hope it's correct spelling). Anyway, there's only 1 tire & battery shop there. However, do note that you may have to wait at Ban Huat if there are other vehicular customers around because he is a 1-person show and will give priority to his car/van customers. What to do as those customers are his bread and butter, so we motorcyclists can only wait and get second priority. Also, both shops are closed on Sundays.

Alternatively, you can also do at Eng Wah Tire & Battery at Blk 5, Lorong 8 Toa Payoh Industrial Park. They charge S$10 per internal patch. They can direct you to a motor shop nearby for the dismantling of the wheel, but it will cost S$25 for this job. So, overall, it's more expensive at Toa Payoh. As usual, both shops are also closed on Sundays.

By the way, if your worm repair is not leaking, there's no need to redo again with the internal patch method for the same puncture. The internal patch method is also no guarantee that it will not leak again, except that it has much better durability than the worm method if done correctly.

Looking at it (for others reading-in), isn't it wiser to carry the 'koyok' and squeeze it under the seat? The packing is very small really. Once u need to patch, just bring it to the bike shop & ask them to do the repair. I am sure it's a no sweat job to them. The 'koyok' can be bought at Daiso for only $2. Or any bicycle shop sure got them. :thumb:
