Will this damage my bike?

Hello fellow riders, im riding a sp. whenever i park my bike and had difficulty finding my neutral gear, i switch off my engine and change it. will this action damage my bike?

i think it would't damage ur bike ba..if ur netural is hard to get.. try changing ur EO..?

I doubt so too... Dun think will have any adverse effects on any parts in the gear box...

Agree with enHANZed that you need to adjust ur clutch free play.

And if the adjustment is to the max already, I suggest you change the clutch cable.

Do you know how to adjust the clutch free play?

To adjust clutch freeplay u turn the round nut locate just beside the clutch lever

i used to experience this problem.. Reach red light by the time i find neutral green light le.. sometimes haven find have to go le

 

i manually adjusted the freeplay of the clutch lever so that there is more freeplay.. now its easier to find neutral

 

I think this is due to clutch plate sticking too close to the flywheel then hard to seperate thus cannot kick neutral

Not very sure about the technical part.. been a long time from my studies

 

But in anycase should u want to try.. its very simple..

At the clutch lever theres something like a nut and screw..

loosen the screw by abit at a time then tighten the nut so that the screw wun fall back in.

try a few rounds of the carpark then adjust till suitable!

yeah i knew changing my EO and adjusting the clutch free play helps, but im used to a certain clutch feel and when i adjust the free play, changing gear and finding neutral is easy. But my clutch will become very hard and it strain my hands. anyway thanks for all ur advices..ride safely. cheers

if ur clutch is very hard ...change it ...it wont cost much

It wont damage u bike...but its time for u to change ur engine oil mate
