Because no one provide any answers in old thread. They just talk about where to eat, anone want to join me to go eat, etc mostly personal stuffs. Even one guy wanted to sell his FJR does not answer anything. A few people also asked about resale but no answer. Maybe is is out of town or does not always check BBS. Maybe he PMed but I'm still in the dark because no answer. :puke:

I hope even those who does not own FJR(other bikes) who did some recent pricing can offer some help.

That's why.

those Qs had been ans many times over. u can read through the thread & u will get ur ans. btw FJR havn't change much, price still ~ the range, engine & body same not much change. as for insurance & road tax is all standard lah 1300cc mean 1300cc lah

quite a numbers of ppl asked in here recently about the pricing of FJR. end up all of them disappear. think they have "located" another lovely bike for themself.

Brand new FJR machince price have not been change & stay at SGD26,500. so it have to depend on the rider age to add in the insurance.

2nd hand wise depend on the bike shop & year make & condition, is various from shop to shop. but he pricing wise should be around 01',02' model ~ 12~13K, 03',04' model ~ 14~16K, 05' model ~ 16~18K. interest rate for 2nd bike should be from 4~8%.

try to verify cleary with bike shop either there is any hidden cost. to avoid misunderstand & hard time later. & try to avoid that "wind" shop at bukit merah.

The price for the OEM rear brake pad last year April was $66.15

Don't know whether this year got inflation or not

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

Frankly speaking, if you are so concern about the running cost of this bike, then maybe you might not be ready for this bike. Hope that I did not offend you.

You have a point here. No offence. Thanks everyone for responding. I will stick to my Deauville for a while more. A FJR will be under utilised for me because I don't travel up north. Perhaps that's a good reason.

AM selling S$60 for the rear brake pad set on 15.11.06.

I changed at HKL for S$75 cos lazy to go down AM for direct purchase :cheeky:

Think OEM is the best, else may consider EBC which is slightly cheaper but not as lasting.

Guys, anyone replaced the clutch pump before? Is it just a simple matter of buying the repair kit from AM/AC and getting some skilled labour to do it?

Prompted by a friend (blackbird rider) to check on my clutch pump after his broke down last night. Clutch no pressure / tension when engaged. End up gotta call for tow truck. His is a 6yrs old bike. Just returned from heavy t/jams in BKK.

 deanz, u can go vectorone to change it to steel braided throttle cables. Inside is teflon, plus stainless steel cables, original is made of mildsteel, softer material more prone to cables fraying. My bike now has this problem already. Very dangerous, throttle cables might snap anytime soon. I have to quickly purchase it. :giddy:

We dismantled the clutch lever, sprayed some WD40 etc but still didnt help.

Even went petrol station to a bottle of dot 4 clutch fluid for topping up.

Throttle cables also hv steel braided ones ar? Gud idea! Putting it on my wish list.

Anyone using steel braided brake cables currently? Some motodiams not willing to take on the 'project' cos they say ABS brake cables beri complicated and messy.

Is it neccessary in the first place since FJR brakes are alredi very well performing?Comments?

bro cheeko,, i dont think my throtttle is due to snapping soon coz my bike is still very new. 7 mth old only....

what i meant is originally the bike throttle is heavy.

The US forum complain abt this making thier wrist numb while long ride..

and i think its true..

they made some adjustment to the throttle by taking off some tension from the throttle cable

Me too was inf'd by some of the bike shop's mech that ABS bike not adviceable to change the brake hose...

But motor world sale man say can, everything can be done...

He ever told me that the brake hose will "expand" on hot weather, which will affect braking, which i think is simply bu_ _sh_ _!!!

asked vector one b4..they told me 06' model due to the CBS is very hard to change to steel brake hose. it will take more then 6 hours to do it up

& the most important part it will cost about SGD1700 for the steel brake hose :giddy:

i agree perfectly with ashenZ! but a most simple solution to solve this numbness in the right-hand is, i jus simply use a throttle-rocker when i go for longer RIdes!!

hi all, my personal feel is that the numbness is not due to the heavy throttle. when i do not wear gloves, my right hand feel numb even after a short local ride and i think it is more due to the vibrations.

however i feel the heavy throttle contributes to another problem; sore hands after a long ride. i went on a rather long ride recently and my hand was sore for 2 days (couldnt clench my fist fully, had problems holding my toothbrush). i didnt had vistacruise or throttle rocker on for that ride, and had to tahan the throttle throughout. and with gloves on, i didnt have the numb hands issue.

5 cents.
