Ah Keong?? hahaha... I remember this name/guy...

When I was riding my Honda TA200 3 years ago, my engine died on AYE along West Coast Recreation Center. My friend recommended me to tow my bike to HKL... Ah Keong was in charge of "handling" my case and in the end I was "cut" like one big fat "carrot head" for full over-haul of my TA200 engine... But I guess that is because it was my first time there at HKL and I don't know the mechanics there well... :)

Personally, i think mechanics need not only know the bike well but also the person themselves. it's best that u have a good relationship from the start la so that you don't get chopped lor.

Since my Super4 i only look for HKL ah keong, cos his the only one so far whom has got that personal touch, once he gets familiar with him due to the regularities, he becomes a very good accessor for the bike mainly when u go over and tell him you want to change this and that,

He'll give u pre-check, and then if it's really worn down than he'll agree to change it, if not he'll tell u it can last for another few months so u don't need to immediately change it and save up. i love the sincerity in his work,

Bro Seah, i didn't know you had such a bad experience with him, cos seriously i can't imagine that kind attuide from him. maybe same shop got another other guys like Ah bee all a little scary that's why i only let him touch my bike if he not available i don't want anyone else... but he really unlikely to Chop la from what i've known la going to him for the past 3 yrs to him.. even when i was low on cash one time he ask me to pay 1/3 and the rest can installment one when i come for next servicing i think this is the trust i've shared with him one la.

Its the same with my WR, only 1 mech Tan kay wah from Fastrack, if its not him no other. No body looks aft my Jenni other than him.

I believe at that time, it was my FIRST time there at HKL and didn't know him or the mechanic that serviced my TA200, well, so I feel a bit kenna "chop"...

Just imagine I paid close to S$1K for full over-haul of my TA200 engine (I chekced with another shop near Redhill MRT Stn, after I got back my TA200 and rode for a while, the boss said he could have done it at around S$600+)... You guys will sure laugh your heads off and laugh at me being a BIG "carrot-head"... :)

Anyway, that was 3 years back... All history now...

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

Now I recall since u've described his avatar. He's the one thats very pessimistic about the ticking sound of FJR and switched to an STX because of that. And I know he has had a lot of arguments with other forumners. Of course, there's pple who are behind him as well.

Hope all the differences can RIP as well...
