i'm just not sure about the claiming part

i send my bike for repair, then i claim against his insurance.

so what are the chances that he will contest the claims?

the assessment officer told me today that it is virtually impossible for him to win.

then again, who decides?

bro, did u call MARS on the scene it self?

i only called MARS this afternoon to take photo of the damage and to report what happened.

the guy told me that, he was driving in the wrong direction and i have a witness, it is enough.

i also have no idea to what extent can repairs be made...

i think 8+k rpm on gear 5 is about 240

at least that's what i remember for my previous FJR.

haven't gone insanely fast on the current one

and i haven't even gone fast to get into a minor incident.

Icic, I'm not too sure if I using the wrong technique of reaching high speed as I don't go for high speed at low gear. I usually changes gear at about 3000 rpm and when I hit 5th gear I will just accelerate on all way until about 200km will the rpm is about 8000. Can I check with all the experienced riders here if I am using the wrong technique?

for me, smoothest point of gear transition is around 2.5k RPM or just very slightly below that.

i don't think there is a technique for high speed except to just turn the throttle.

u can do the racing way which is to change gear just as it touches the red zone.

1st gear will be 100km/hr.

Why do you worry about NS Highway?

cannot speak malay and the police and robbers, haha

Oh. Actually its not advisable to ride alone up north. You should get a friend to go with you. At least its safer for you to go toilet and not to worry that your stuffs may disappear in a sec.

As for malay, if you have iphone. Download the language translator. At least they understand you.

Yeah for sure, you will meet singaporean riders on your way up. I noticed there are generally two types of upnorth riders.

Type 1 - Move off late, Cheong all the way at 180kph above and rest for few mins at 90% of the stop points. They will spend more time at lunch stop and tea break.

Type 2 - Move off very early and relax riding at 130-150kph all the way. But spend lotsa break time at all stop points.

Lolx, i am sure you will bump into type 2 during the mid journey. Btw since you are moving off at 5, why dont you join the 4.30 batch instead? It is only 30mins time gap.

language is just a small barrier, its bike break down & accident that will deter a rider from going up north alone.anyway, just do it.proper planning, preparation, prevents piss poor performance.
