This error, and a flashing ABS light, occurred while returning home from a local shop. Since the bike was running OK, I rode back home, took the photo, and decided to ride to the dealer to get his take.

Having turned off the ignition, I found the bike would not re-start.

I then found out that the error was listed as: "Braking signal is not detected while braking" and "No braking signal is received by MCU (motor control unit) when vehicle is braking".

Since it seemed to be a braking related problem, I decided to check the brake switches; so, ignition on, front brake lever pulled, check brake lights are on, OK.

Then release front brake lever - brake lights still on!

It soon became evident that the rear brake lever was not releasing properly. On lubricating the brake lever, all systems back to normal.

No problem since.

I thought this rear brake lever "stuck" issue only happens to old model of FJR, never knew that Yamaha still have not solve this simple issue, so disappointed.

I bypass this issue by adding a simple spring.

Lubrication will only solve this issue until the lubricating oil wears off, not a permanent solution.

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

Some info Sharing for the New FJR1300A Regarding Suspension. I'm writing this in case there are riders who are not aware about Suspension Setups. I've met amatures who was not aware and was adjusting it the wrong way and had themselves into accidents.

Where safety is concern, Suspension Settings are very improtant. Without the right setup, stability in cornering and heavy braking will be affected.

I've gain some experience from my previous 2 sports bike in order to have the bike cornering safely.

Likewise from my 1st hand previous sports bike R1'09 the front Pre-load was too soft and had some issues cornering especially on Cameron Highland.

My New FJR Front Sag was about 52mm. How I got this measurement,

Measure the suspension on main stand with the front wheel not touching the ground (e.g 183mm)

Then measure it again with the rider sitting on the bike with his whole weight, bounce the front suspension a little to set it(131mm).

183-131 = 52. From the info i gathered, too much sag & it should be roughly about 35mm-41mm. But right now i'm trying out a sag of 45mm.

Tighten Both front folk until u see only '1 line left' Intially there were 2 lines. Immediately i feel a big improvement and cornering was more stable and effortless. However, less sag means compression & rebound will be harder. Compression may not need to be softer(depends individual) However, the rebound needs to be softer, probably around 3 clicks(+- if necessary). It's important that the front rebound is quick(softer).

So here's my sharing about suspension setting. :thumb:

Bro, u mean the Factory Setting is not of standard or general setting for brand new 2013 model?

The setting u did is of ur own or from the manual?

The factory setting is standard for the front compression/rebound and rear rebound. Accoding to the manual, i've checked it myself & it's on standard setting. The preload has no standard setting. Because all riders have different weight. That's why suspension set up is important for every bike(provided the bike has fully adjustable suspension).

The set up i did is from my own weight of about 73kg.

Yesterday Evening, I saw someone riding the new FJR1300 At Hougang Area.

This Morning, i saw him again, and He notice me also with the exact same bike & colour.

License plate looked like AM*(single digit). Wondering if He's here.

Its ok. Because i was explaining regarding to the New FJR.

You could try Bike Lab. Heard good feedback about them regarding suspension setup.

anyone can recommend top box that's look good on FJR??

Check out Sheares Technologies @ 123 Selegie Road. They hv Pelican Box and other brand 'indestructable' boxes that looks good if mount on FJR as top box. Cost arnd sgd100+ - try to bargain.

For mounting plate, check out Project Motor, 2nd floor (exactly above BikeWork - Ah Beng) @ Kaki Bukit Rd 3. Its a laser-cut Stainless-steel plate where u can have logos or bike no. laser-cut onto the plate. All mounting bolt & nuts + high washer provided. Cost sgd150 or above.

Hi guys i have some questions on FJR.

Btw guys if the fjr is aldy equipped with power commander, do i need to re-dyno the bike again after going thru the throttle body synchronize?

Can i judged that the bike needs throttle body synchronization by looking at the rpm fluctuates on idling after warm up?

Lastly is it normal to have a slight different in sound from the clutch internal assembly or the engine when i pull and release the clutch lever? similar to a s4 if you happen to rode one before.

Thanks guys!

Same thing as any other CLS2 bike. Engine smoothness, signs of crashes/ major works etc. All electricals in order. On mainstand, rotate the rear tire and feel if smooth or not. Jus to see if the shaft and swingarm are ok. Test ride if you can. Also take a look at brake calipers, rotors.

If u decide to get, try and do maintenance. Change all the fluids (EO,brake, clutch, coolant) incl the shaft oil, EO filter, air filter, sync throttle body. Re-grease the shaft. If you have the budget lar to do all at once lar.. if not slowly do.

Hi bro @DaBonz, appreciate your advise. Btw which shaft should i send for re-grease?

Lastly, i heard that fjr rear shock tends to worn off or breakdown easily. is it true?

Thanks!
