Hi I need advise...

I'm thinking of getting a springer from a bike shop, but I have not pass my TP and not sure whether I will pass the first shot. I asked the shop guy the possibility of laying up, he thought a while and said ok, he can layup the bike, and do the transfer, do the inspection, insurance, roadtax for me, and park the bike at my place carpark, I asked if I can put the bike at his shop to safe trouble, he hesitated but say ok.

do you guys think its ok?

any bros here who knows steed kind enough to test the bike for me at the back lane of the shop because I have not rode, sat, hear the sound of a steed before. Thanks.

Hmm... weird, just check on onemotoring, the bike is currently laid up leh, the guy didnt tell me, say need to lay the bike up, huh blur, maybe will call him 2morrow, in this case if wanna transfer to me, does it mean gotto do a new lay up procedure?

I think the bike is already layed-up like most bikes in bike shops. Maybe you wanna neg with the shop if you think they're trustworthy and leave a deposit so they dun sell to other ppl? Or alternatively if you can find a kind soul who will buy the bike for you first and hold on to it till you get your 2A? I'm sure the guy will have nothing to lose if you pay for everything.

I'm not comfortable with putting deposit, I am able to fork out full cash so wondering if a layup bike can be transfered to my name before getting my 2A.

If a friend help me, that means he gotto get insurance, will he get refunds from the insurance company if after few weeks or a month he transfer the bike to me?

I think you'll get refund of your insurance minus admin fee up to X amount of days. After X days it's 80% or something. They have tehir own calculator for things like that. The most add you as sub rider if you're good friends with your err..friend? Or you just fork out every single cent so even if there's any extra charges, he has nothing to lose. But that's only if you're hardcore for the bike. If not I think can wait la. Pass already slowly take a look. Unless the deal is really sweet.

thanks plasticblackspecs, anyway I wont go for the 'ask friend help' option, too troublesome. Just found out from my trusted bike shop, I can have a layup bike transfered to my name without the need of me having a license, only that I can't buy insurance, cant ride it. =)

anybody knows what to look out for, what to check, what to hear out for if I want to buy a steed? How do I make sure I don't get a lousy one?

Ermm...I dunno how to explain what to look out for. Anyway I usually drag a friend who knows along. :p I suggest you do the same.

You do know when you un-lay up the bike you need to bring it to inspection right? But you can't ride it there so have to tow.

my advice is for u not to get the bike untill u get the license... i know its love at first sight for the bike and all... butwhy limit urself to that one bike.... i dun koe how many springer are there for sale... but usually if u wait long enuff... one will pop up and its better to try, test, and ride... before buying....
