The insurance is not do-able lahz.. got the date of purchase too...

Maybe can mention abt trying the bike so that u want to buy.. but u already bought a new bike.. so tis excuse cannot work.. but u can mention that u nv put the p-plate cos u dun have the intention to ride for long distance more on trying the bike.. if they charge u on the p-plate.. u can say that at least it shows that u dun have the intention to ride for long dist..

since we are at this topic...i can't help but feel that a lot new riders may not know of this insurance rule...i don't blame them...when i was a newbie...i also didn't know about this although i never did riding without insurance...i learnt about this through other people....not sure if im wrong...but i don't recall being told of this rule during the theory lessons or the theory books...

this is such an important thing n it should be covered in the lessons if its not currently...this thing should be made very clear to all new riders...especially when they pass the TP test...in fact...i tink as this does not apply in the case of cars...most people will not be aware of it...ask any driver who doesn't ride..chances are they will also not be aware that there is such a thing for riders...

but my dad knew it. he dun hab bike liscense.

4 e guy hu ride e bike wifout liscense, e rider himself oso will know. juz like wad my fren told mi when i rode gis bike e 1st time. he told mi 2 leave e bike n run. den kol him so tat he will kol n say his bike stolen a while after.

come pimpthugsta i'll clear all your doubts...

riding without Insurance confirm your license confirm disqualified for at least a yr.. + fine.. if your friend's father say that he know that you are riding his bike... = abetment = same charge..

no point going down to NTUC to buy the insurance now as on the day you are caught you are without insurance coverage.. you can give reasons like " oh i was on the way to buy insurance, i was testing the bike only... blah blah blah" but those are not an excuse to ride without insurance.

but if you dont wish to drag your friend's father along, you'll face with one more charge and that is theft of the bike(without owner's consent or knowledge is theft). So do go and think about it.

riding without insurance is as good as riding without a license.

to add on: if you were having the intention to test ride the bike, you can always do it in the carpark, why need to go to the main road?

100% suspend ur license. I just got my new road tax, and it states there very strictly, about keep or use an unlicensed vehicle and use a vehicle without valid insurance cover. It goes like this;

Please also note that it is a serious offence for anyone to use a vehicle without a valid insurance cover. The penalty for this serious offence is a fine of up to $1000 or to imprisonment of up to 3 months or both, and a mandatory disqualification from holding a driving license for at least 12 months, upon an offender's conviction in court.

So u see bro.. sorry to dash ur hopes.. but i hope this will get u mentally prepared.. unless there's a miracle.....

but think abt this...

for example... ur vehicle was taken by ur cousin to transport drugs when u were not in singapore... when u came back the SPF charge u with drug trafficking?? erm... abit weird...

in this way the law is prosecuting someone who is innocent... juz like this case... the owner is innocent... he knew nothing... and did nothing... the only thing he did wrong is leave the key to his "helpful" son...

Posted

thats y u shud never give ur vehicle keys to anyone the the 1st place bro..cos ultimately, its ur responsibility...prevention better...

Then the father can report that the vehicle was used without his permission(=> theft/without consent) Saves the father but screws the son and pimp. Either way someone has to bear the black wok or everyone down the line kena.

i dun think the father expected the son to lend his bike to another... also... most prob he didn't even pass his key to his son... might have juz left it on the table... and his son juz took it...

pimp... got a question for you... wat were u doing riding his dad's bike on a main road?

The law is there for a reason...

I'm a cantankerous lugubrious weirdo. Enraptured by stone walls. Demented by love. Disparaged by my own soul. Besieged by languor. Suffered from acute distress triggered by terminal boredom and elucidation of rhodonderons and deciduous seedlings. Searched for serenity amidst the chaos but failed miserably.
