I have 2 pairs of riding boots, one for Touring and one for local street riding.

Both are waterproof and offers different level of protection.

For local Riding ~ FORMA FLY (Used for almost 4yrs - still wearing them)

Brand - FORMA

Model - EVO FLY

From - Rigina

Cost - Below SGD$200

- Well made Italian made Boots costing below SGD$200/-

- Clocked almost 40K km (3yrs of usage) before water started to sip in from the tip of the boots.

- Offers basic anti-slip sole with is very tough till date.

- Zipper and Velcro still ok even after all this years of abuse.

Conclusion: Will seek out the next generation boots under this Brand as it's value for $$$

For Touring ~ SIDI ADVENTURE GORE (Got them early this year)

Brand - SIDI

Model - ADVENTURE GORE

From - Chong Aik International

Cost - Below SGD$500

- A CE Certified Pair of boots.

- Provide wonderful ankle and foot support.

- Waterproof

- Very easy to wear with Velcro and clip ons.

Conclusion: Yes, it's expensive but it's worth every penny as it's one of the best touring boots $$ can buy.

Just purchased a TCX touring boot, under $300 from Chiap Lee. Still breaking it in, but overall fairly comfortable, except for the fact that it's taking me a while to get used to the boot's thickness getting in the way of my shifting. Starting to get the hang of it, but my old short boots were much easier to work with (and cheaper too... but then again, they're are terrible from a protection standpoint).

Looked like they had some short boots on display as well, one of the X-series, not sure which though since I wanted a proper boot this time. Still, that option is there, as a few other guys have already said.

I ordered according to the converse walking shoe US size label tag and the boots fit perfectly for me.

Profile Asia carries one model of a brand whose name I've forgotten: they're full leather, ankle height, waterproof, and have two straps. Only thing I don't like about them is how they also have laces under the velcro front flap (which the straps secure down the side). $260 I think.
