Angel Eye lights

Can someone with experience with modifications tell me if angel eye lights are legal on bikes? Because I know on some bikes they are legal and on some they are not. I'm thinking on putting it on my bike but I don't want to get caught by TP and pay a fine.

Let's say I'm installing the angel eye lights. But I'll keep the stock lights at home so during annual checks I'll change it back. Is it feasible and advisable to do so?

I thought you can have on and off switch for angel eyes? I am tempted to do angel eyes for my sp too. :/
