Why not get back to the shop u bought, save $ since you just got it, probably the seal need to be changed and oil need to be top up. Or the fork bent. Servicing/changing e seal, for cls 2 bike ard $150-$200.

It doesn't matter how good your bike is, but how long you can ride it

Performance doesn't lie on the bike, it boost when the ego broke!!

It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile...winning's winning..

sp should be cheap less than $80 coz s4 the cheapest u can get is $80.

fresh new oil and oilseal cum dustcover u can get it at that price. perhaps u wana query in the sp thread. suspension system is crucial for every bike esp if u love to corner.

usually due to wear and tear, dun get alarm. :thumb:

i change it twice, once in malaysia but only works well 2mth nia, den i go to sg change very good not leaking anymore. Malaysia i change is RM$120 nt original, sg i change SG$70 price expensive but original. esp front right side 1 u must faster change the oil seal otherwise ur brake disc will be full with fork oil = front brake useless...

If the oil is leaking other than from the seal, then you, potentially, have a really big problem.

When oil leaks from the seal, it doesn't necessary mean that the seal is the source of the problem. Fine particles, like sand, trapped between the seal and the fork extender can reduce it's effectiveness. You can try using a strip of film negative, and slot it in at the seal, to clean up the area.

Another possibility is that if Oil oozes out from the seal when fork is compressed because too much oil is filled.

Inverted (upside down) forks inherently have leakage problem due to it's design. Is SP using Inverted fork ?

Posted

No, SP is not using inverted fork.

Fork seal problem, just send to shop to do, better. A good seal can last you for 1 year, thus you have to justify whether cheap is it worth it anot. :)

point to add..

is better to do it fast if there is rust on the dust cover..

cos the rust may eat into the suspension rod, then in future, u hav to keep changing of the oil seal..

for rear suspension, u hav to visit bikelab..

they are the pro..

if yr rear can be rebuilt, they will make it back by changing the necessary parts and the rite amount of gas..

if you bounce on the bike, any creaky sound is usually caused by the pivot joint at the swing arm. The spring at the suspension doesn't make any noise.

Presuming that your race sag is correctly adjusted.

http://www.4strokes.com/tech/racesag.asp

If your bike sag too much, it simply means that your spring rate is too light. Indirectly, it can also mean that you are too heavy. The only solution is too replaced the spring with the correct spring rate, however that is not possible for all rear suspension systems. However it's a common practice to insert a spacer to artificially increase the spring load. This method (using spacer) is only strictly for esthetic purpose and do not try this on a bike for track.

all can be rebuilt, with all the parts available..

nsr150, the servicing cost is good enough for you to get a brand new thailand rear shock..

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....
