Hi guyz, I'm new here so I'm not sure if this is ever discussed. I just want an opinion/help with a decision I'm trying to make.

I'm thinking of getting a brand new 2013 CBR600RR and I realised that Honda usually release new model around this time of the year. According to a bike shop, if the new model were to release and I purchase the 2013 model, the price will usually about $1000 cheaper than before. But I'm not sure as to whether that'll actually be worth it. I mean if I buy the 2013 model, and sell it 3 years later (which is in year 2016), the selling price of the 2013 CBR600RR will be much lower than if I were to buy the 2014 model because most people will look at the release year of the bike as part of their consideration for the purchase (correct me if I'm wrong) and the 2013 model will be seen as a 3 year old bike while the 2014 as a 2 year old bike.

What I want to know is if that depreciated value or loss will be more than the discounted cost ($1000)? Would you choose to buy a newly released model or get the current year model at a discounted price? And why?
