Almarciano, ur brake pads have not bedded in yet if ur mileage is less than 500km. Geeee i got my bike for $5275 OTR including insurance in end of July(thai import with sport rims). My insurance is $300 for 3rd party fire and theft with 20yrs riding experience. I still find it expensive though for the place where i got my bike.....yucksss! Think the price should drop a bit by now.

Bedding means allowing your brakes to reach their full potential. Proper bedding will improve pedal feel, reduce or eliminate brake squeal, and extend the life of your pads and rotors.

Bedding In Procedure:

# After fitting new Disc brake pads, accelerating velocity to 60 km/h.

# Push brakes using to moderate pedal effort to reduce speed to approximately 10 km/h.

# Repeat step 1 and 2 approximately 10 times, to condition material surface of rotor and Disc brake pads.

# After bedding-in can be drive at normal condition.

# Avoid hard braking for first 100 km

If do not follow-up bedding-in procedure, there will be problems as the following:

# Excessive heat will be generated on the surface of Disc pads.

# Resin will burn, noise and dust.

# Loss of good braking performance.

# Can experience fade (slippery).

Hope this will help u

How's their after-sales service? Any hidden fees?

Okay... I went Ban Hon & asked.. they quoted $4400 OTR from agent inclusive insurance (may vary), sport rims +$160, givi box +$80. They provide installment @ 5% with $800 downpayment.

How come so much difference that I asked from ASPhoon $4900 OTR with kappa box, normal rims & w/o insurance...?

Went Hong Leong:

X1R - Cast Wheel, Clutch, Kick Starter: $4750 w/o insurance

X1R - Spoke Sheel, Clutch, Electric Starter: $4750 w/o insurance

They provide installment with 5% interest provided downpayment of 30% of OTR price.

I forgot to ask Ban Hon whether the price include 7% GST or not... the guy at Hong Leong said can't be that cheap.. probably have hidden cost.

bros, wad eo are u guys using on ur x1r..anyone can recommend which grade of eo works well on our bikes? seen alot of grades..10w40, 15w50, 20w40..but i dunno which one..i only noe the xxw40 is thinner than the xxw50..

thanks!

use 15w50 full syn engine oil . sikolene is cheap.

if u want to spend double buy maxima 15w50 or motul 300v for ard $ 20

from my experience and also advices from some of the mechanics... fully syn engine oil doesnt last long. those type of oil are best used for race purposes.. one time use then drain out and change because fully synthetic is less 'thinner' therefore lifespan is lesser but u get better performance. my guess is semi syn engine oil are more useful for on road purpose. YamaOil works best with mine..and whats more..its cheap..u get it for juz 8bucks.

im not a motorbike mechanic...im a car mechanic... but i think the application is somewhat similar.

just my 2cents worth
