Good day to all brothers and sisters here.

On 3rd of December 2013, when I was on SLE towards Woodlands I was stopped by LTA enforcer because of my tampered exhaust pipe.

Then we proceeded to the inspection centre at Yishun, and concluded that my exhaust was tampered, I've received a note on the day itself from the inspection centre to go for a re-inspection within 7 days with an approved pipe.

Please forgive me if there's a similar thread, but I just want to ask, will the summon letter be mailed to our home or do we have to check it at some online portal, and about how long will it take for the summon to arrive?

(I'm still a student and I don't want my family to worry about the fine, so my intention is to hijack letter box when the letter arrives, and then appeal to relevant authorities for the fine, I've heard it's $500, a huge sum...)

It'll arrive in your letter box. If first time, just go down to lta to see the compounding officer. Tell them you bought your bike like this, still student no money etc. They will most like reduce the fine to $200 for first timers. Quite unlikely they will waive.

Thanks bro for the reply, but do you know approximately how long does it usually take for the mail to arrive?

summon usually comes after 7 days. but this is provided it comes directly from TP. for inspection centres after going through the inspection centre paperwork and plus TP processing probably 2 weeks. if you havent receive it up till now you should be receiving it probably after new year as it is peak period for singpost so letters usually gets delayed. i'm not sure if exhaust modification deduct points or not if it deduct points you will receive the letter 2 times. one is registered post tt needs to be sign when collected and another is normal mail, cauz i received one point deduction letter before :sian:

I think got registered also, forgot liao. Btw his is from LTA. Just do what I said earlier and get it reduced to $200. This is what the LTA officer that caught me taught me to do.

Reinspection must pass. And you will still get summon.

if you wanna save a trip down can actually email them straight and appeal.

been there done that. for my case, managed to waive 500 to 200 just for the exhaust summon.

but the rest of the modification will not be waived.

Just received the letter today, appealed via onemotoring too, pray for the best, still a student now can't really afford the fine. :(
