Ah thanks much guys - I'm on east coast so bukit merah OK. Does anyone have good experience with Guan Hoe? They serviced the bike previously.

Dont even get close to that area. read on from other threads and you will understand. We not allowed to defame any shop brand but as a general rule most avoid that area. Those who recommend to go there - they must have had good experience (which is One in a many).

 

Whats the probability of an Ang Mo not getting ripped off? You go there and let us know.

 

I was personally, ripped off twice and did not get a good service. Once bitten, twice shy , third time . .. . .. I just stupid.

 

I have an Afica Twin, and am personally gonna try out the recommendations made by our seniors such as in Kaki bukit, Ubi and AMK.

u guys may wanna go and do ur bikes at VS Motorsports at eunos industrial area....gd place with a good mechanic...they do their own paintjobs and paintwork quality oso gd...boss kenneath is an easy person to talk to..the mech ah liang was personally recommended by AH HAI to me....so if ah hai can recommend some1...that says alot....

yealah the Boss Kenneath is easy-going and yet friendly although

he look like "Ah Beng". But then he always buz man and at times diffcult

to get hold at him .... As for his mec so called the senior citizen Ah Hai,

is also good at his work. Always saw SP bike / KR bike doing there.....

BikeWorkz ah beng I have sent my bikes there for servicing and trouble shooting. They are professional and price wise wont hack you one. But of course la.. must wait a while when they have many customers.

Did not pay me to promote his mechanics or shop!

 

But I strongly recommended for africa twin or big bikes alike to go there.

 

I have surveyed other services- cant name them but the spare parts and service at BW reasonably lower.

 

I give example just to justify :

 

Handle cone: $80

Others about : $100

 

Carburator cleaning: $60

 

I dont know why Air Filter cleaning is $10 tho'

But EO and filter with service - $70 - ok la for big bike.

 

needless to say Mechanic Ah Soon, gave full servicing to my bike unlike some masseurs who don't even service me well. He really stripped her good to service her, hence I finally got to see her insides. (got a chance to clean it and figured all the inside)

 

Ah soon threw in a breakdown of what needs to be serviced - I did them and my bike has never felt better than i have ever riden her.

 

Engine even sounds better.

Hi.. would like to change mineral oil during run in.. kindly recommend a good shop that service Cl2 bike.. ie R6 or CBR600... etc etc...

 

At my last visit to BikeWorks,

I spoke to R1 owner and R6 owners. They very happy with Ah Beng's Mechanic. Hence, I guess that's the place

 

I ride Honda 750 so dont know anything about sports bikes.

Hey guys, if buying a bike,repair works or any accessories from a motor diam, double check to make sure the company is GST REGISTERED if they are charging GST. I kena chopped by one company with this scam.

Here's the IRAS website to check. And make sure to get a proper receipt with a breakdown of cost otherwise like me cannot report without black and white documents.

they got so gd meh....ah chong and his mech all very gd at joking....but bike wise....they dun look lke they specialise in any bike category leh....lke jia pa lang...haha...very messy....but their service is very gd i mus admit...

 

Been to so many moto tiams.....

seeen so many mech gd or bad....

but I gt 2 say Planet is GOOD!!!!!

 

yup duperman they joke look messy etc....

but dun forget every 1 has their own method ...

at the end of the day retify the prob & at a gd price...

IS A JOB WELL DONE....!!!

 

ah Chong is very experienced.....

like tat time i busted my magnet coil juz a few check he confirm wif mi it magnet coil ....

& it true....(was hoping for Batt or retificer coz the coil OEM cost mi $600 fr evershine)

Any way Planet is a shop by far I trusted the most where it cum to servicing etc (though they kinda hate my kawa so troublesome wif the fairings removal etc ...haha)

With reference to the above mentioned shop, A**e*t M*****, I just to want add my personal experience from the same shop, i.e *lb*r* *otors. Bought a new X-1 from them, because they quote me the lowest price among all the shops i have asked. Only to find out later, they never include in the price of the UI unit. Service was quite bad. Ask us to collect at 5pm, and made us waited for 2 hours.

 

Monthly installments was $80. Charge us $10 for late payment of 3 days. Will not accept posted cheques, so you can to go down every month and endure their attitude. The brother acted like a gangster when I remarked that the accounts gal has bad attitude.

I will never go near that shop again.In fact I made it a point to avoid that row of shops in Alexander Village.

1) wrong paint work done..my fren wanted a white paintwork and instead got a black one..

2) collection time two weeks..within one week, the mech called, said bike redi..but turned out wrong paintwork and nothing has been done to the bike..in the end, after almost everyday of goin dwn to the bikeshop, collection was ready only after three weeks..paintwork was still wrong btw (second time wrong paintwork)..

3) my poor fren brought down his mother and father to be the guarantor..in the end, shop said its company policy tt guarantor must be above 21 but below 50 years old..in the end one fren helped out..but wait..still nd anodr guarantor..my poor fren had his ic retained by the shop until he found another guarantor..

4) worse of all, when confronted abt the guarantor thingy, two guys, r*****n and anodr malay guy b***k challenged me and my frens to a fight..

5) monthly installment grace period is only 5 days! compared to asphoon which is 15 days..

 

second case gilera:

1) free paint work quoted..only to find out a week later that paintwork not included..if wan paintwork, add $300..

2) guarantor problem again..my fen didnt noe abt the 21-50 yrs old policy..

hey bro, u sure the mechanic steals things anot?? mayb they repairing sometimes?? or exchanging somethings?? u cant b sure, can u?? who in the world would steal in the middle of the day, and somemore is the mechanic working at the shop?? he cant b tat stupid.. can he?? btw, hav u really get to know the truth of the whole story?? ppl is doin business leh.. y would they wan to get into a fight and create trouble??seriously, its abit doubtful about the whole story?? would they risk and get fired?? doubt so rite? did ur frens make clear and state wat they wan in the first place?? did ur fren ask them to write it down?? many cases, its the customers who is at fault, like never ask properly or never ask the sales for black and white. sometimes, miscommunications will lead to all this... so.. mus check properly... not to say u r making the whole story up, but sometimes, think about it, could it b bcos of a small misunderstanding??

yap. agree wif newbie1984. i knew royston for more than 5yrs. he will not get angry so easily. i always hang up there during my free time. they r friendly and helpful. they will do whatever they promised. but don't ask any 3rd party to involve. will make things even worst. ups for M1 motoring.
