I'm riding LX150 and had a very bad encounter with this shop mentioned. Today, I went to change my tires. While they were changing and doing other inspection, I went to Sim Lim Square to jalan jalan. I received 3 calls from the auntie, asking me want to repair faulty horn, front brake lamp and loose front lamp cover, all of which I declined. One hour later, I went back to make payment first then go up to level 5 to collect my bike.

When leaving, the mechanic said he changed my 5 front wheel bolts, say it's rusty, $14, ask me go down make payment again. This is WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE AND PERMISSION. Trying to forcefeed me with repairs eh? I'm already a little pissed off because these are common underhand methods to boost sales. I checked my old bolts that were taken out, the bolt heads were indeed rusty but the screw thread are not and have not wear off yet.

I wanted to change back. The auntie called his mechanic come down saying in Hokkien, "Come down now. They don't want our STAINLESS STEEL BOLTS. Come and put back to their RUSTY BOLTS." in front of customers, trying to embarrass us. Sh1t service.

After that, we left and while on the road, I noticed my speedometer is dead and mileage meter not clocking distance. I called back to the auntie and she denied opening up my front lamp cover so it is not their fault. However, her mechanic did in fact opened up my front lamp cover. How I know? Because my front lamp cover is loose due to one of the two hooks inside was broken long ago. The mechanic fixed it back temporary using the other hook. And in order the fix back the hook, the lamp cover must be unscrewed and opened up.

A heated argument on the phone took place. I brought up the case of why she did not seek our permission to change the bolts. She said her business is so well and she is very busy. If you are busy, you still can call me 3 times to cross-sell your repairs? Then the bolts, you have to sneakily put it in? Now she ask me go back for more checking.

Can anyone tell me what to do? Can I go to CASE for this? My speedometer and mileage meter how to claim from them?

Just go back there and fix the meter. I doubt it is any more than a couple of wires detached. Probably when the mechanic was trying to hook whatever thing that was loose. Sit down and watch them do it to make sure they don't touch anything else. Then after that don't go back there again.

to be fair, its the owner's responsibility to hang around and see the mech do up the bike.

unless u know the mech well enough to know he wun do anything behind ur back.

u need to be young and reckless to become old and wise..... if u survive
