DUA lelaki dihadapkan ke Mahkamah Rendah semalam atas tuduhan menyiarkan diari maya, atau blog, berbau perkauman - anti-Melayu dan anti-Islam.

 

Benjamin Koh Song Huat, 27 tahun, dan Lim Yew Nicholas, 25 tahun, dituduh di bawah Akta Hasutan - dipercayai orang pertama di kalangan masyarakat blog diheret ke mahkamah di bawah akta itu.

 

Koh menghadapi tiga tuduhan mengeluarkan kenyataan berunsur perkauman anti-Melayu dan anti-Islam dalam blognya, Phoenyx Chronicles, di http://www.upsaid.com antara 12 dengan 17 Jun lalu.

 

Lim menghadapi dua tuduhan melakukan perbuatan sama dalam blognya di Forum Perbincangan Awam di http://www.doggiesite.com pada 16 dan 17 Jun lalu.

 

Blog, kependekan bagi web log, adalah diari atau jurnal yang digunakan penggunanya untuk mencurahkan pendapat.

 

Ia boleh dimulakan sesiapa sahaja.

 

Mahkamah diberitahu blog dua tertuduh itu merakamkan perasaan mereka yang mengandungi elemen hasutan dan boleh membangkitkan rasa permusuhan di kalangan pembaca.

 

Hakim Daerah, Cik Daniele Yeow, diberitahu Koh, bekas penjaga anjing, dan Lim, melakukan perbuatan itu se wenang-wenangnya.

 

Koh didakwa, antara lain, menimbulkan kebencian antara kaum dan kelas di kalangan penduduk Singapura.

 

Lim pula dikatakan memberi komen kesat terhadap surat seorang wanita, mengenai anjing yang tidak dikurung di dalam teksi, yang dihantar ke ruangan forum di akhbar The Straits Times.

 

Tiada sebarang pengakuan dibuat oleh kedua-duanya, yang tidak diwakili peguam.

 

Mereka dibebaskan masing-masing dengan ikat jamin $10,000 dan kes mereka akan didengar lagi pada 21 September.

 

Jika sabit kesalahan, mereka boleh dihukum denda sehingga $5,000 atau penjara sehingga tiga tahun atau kedua-duanya sekali.

 

Mei lalu, seorang pelajar telah memohon maaf kepada Agensi bagi Sains, Teknologi dan Kajian (A*Star) kerana menyiarkan beberapa kenyataan di blog yang dianggap mengandungi fitnah dan berbau perkauman.

yo, good morning.

 

just realised something.....when this thread was first becoming popular....people like mojoz, servo, hayden69, abang box were all regulars here. there was also frequent bike outings like twice a week. a pump petrol session can become 4 hrs. how come nowadays no more.....was quite fun...............and pls dun say the current group of people riding smaller bikes.............i was using busa killer then......

dey amba, me no leader here.....not even slightest intention to become ONE

 

outings can be organized but later nobody come....then how? left me squeeze balls only....

 

but true man, me too missing like the fun we had when going to Kulai and pumping petrol and chit-chatting till wee hours

 

no offence but me dunno how the response from the current batch of MR if we were to arrange similar outings....perhaps too hard or too far

 

anyway, me juz happy to get to know more people joining here....and who knows, it's a step-by-step process before we can organize riding/makan/top-up petrol trips instead of just talk c**k session

Date: 1 - 2 October 2005 (2 days/ 1 night trip)
