500cc GP hero, current Eurosport MotoGP commentator and rider manager for 'The Familie', Randy Mamola, was an interested observer at last weekend's Valencia World Superbike round - where Crash.net caught up with the American to ask, amongst other things, if he had spotted any future MotoGP stars.

 

"You've got some young people, Max Neukirchner and Chris Vermeulen, that are both 21-years-old, and you know Honda are looking at them," replied Mamola. "But even when you look at the Supersport and Superstock there are a lot of young people here that we don't even know about because they have not been picked up yet by the press.

 

"The one thing that Superbike riders might have an edge over 250 riders in Grand Prix is the fact that the bikes weight more and, as you know, MotoGP bikes weigh a lot in comparison to what a 250 does. So for me there are some good possibilities of some crossovers," he continued.

 

"Again, going back to the Superbike thing, I would have to say Chris Vermeulen is someone that we... that I'm looking at in terms of maybe trying to help out and bring over in that direction in the future. We'll just have to wait and see," Randy added, hinting at a possible management interest.

 

Crash.net also spoke with Vermeulen himself at the event and asked the Australian, who took a brace of second place finishes behind Alstare Suzuki's Troy Corser, about his MotoGP ambitions.

 

"MotoGP is my goal, but I'm not winning Superbike races yet (this year)," said the Ten Kate Honda rider, who took four wins last season. "I've got to try and win a world championship here first. I've got a great team and great support from Honda and I'm just loving what I'm doing."

 

And if the opportunity for a MotoGP ride came up?

 

"Maybe at the end of the year if there was a ride for next year, for sure I'd consider it. I'm in one of the top teams in Superbike and to move to MotoGP I'd have to have the opportunity to go to a top team," he said.

budak budak gue turun blok kol 9.30....tapi mesti ada star karat datang kol 10.....so bila kita dah nak jalan, gue sms lu.....kita jumpa pat GP ESSO, ok?
