I think luck plays a part, cause some of the mistakes I made were..

1) forgetting to signal right to change lane before the lights at the last right turn but i quickly turn on the signal before making the right turn back to ssdc, i thought this is guaranteed 4 points. maybe tester didnt see.

2) turning left into ssdc theres a stop line, suppose to line up left then right, but the guy in front of me bloody hell go and stop in the centre then i was too close already so i stopped at the right of his rear wheel. for some reason i didnt get penalised here, could have gotten Improper positioning 2 points or failure to form up correctly, which is immediate failure?

3) this one was the most super suay fk up, E-brake course, all the way during lesson and revision, this one is easy as pie, but during warm up i suddenly cannot brake in time, engine stall. damn worried, then during test, i stopped in time but my engine died! surprisingly no comments/points either.

i was shaking like crazy, very very nervous, end up getting 10 points, 4+4 for abrupt lane change and 2 for improper checking of blind spot.

super lucky man.. but today the instructor hinted before the test that the "sea is very calm, dont need to swim, just float can already" so i assume all the testers were the "lenient" type, only that there's a "shark at the u-turn junction".

I also overheard the tester telling the mistakes, majority of the points were from Blind spot checking, wobbling, failure to give way. Wobbling during turning/moving off was the major one mentioned a lot.

then we kena caught in heavy rain during EFR, wah lan eh damn cold man! and the rain drops hurt like a muthaf**** at 90kmh.

1 guy's iPhone wet until spoil, cannot on or off, haha, lucky mine is waterproof and i put my money+cards in a zip lock bag in my pocket. NEA weather forecast ftw!

Riding in the rain is a pain in the arse.Try riding without gloves and jacket. The rain drops will be like cold stones pelting you.

we didnt have jackets, no one wanted to wear during the rest point.

its like standing in front of an air con at full blast after coming out of the swimming pool.

surprisingly, my hands dont hurt, but the rain drops hitting my neck were like small sharp stones being thrown with force, used my visor to "cover" my neck.

Guys, do I have to prepare helmet and gloves for the 2B Theoretical Circuit Orientation Training?

Edit #1:

But then I have passed my BTT, do I still have to attend lesson 1-4? Seems like its compulsory. So do I get to skip the Basic Theory Trial Test YET they still will refund the $21.40?

Lesson 1 and 2 are horribly boring if you have class 3 or BTT. Mostly road signs and whatnot, almost fell asleep.

3 and 4 are slightly more interesting, but also boring.

Defensive Riding theory is mostly accident videos for lesson 5 and 6, 7 is introducing the kind of bikes out there etc. etc.

there is no assessment, unless things changed.

that video they play after you pass is also "upgraded".

2007 they just show me videos of accidents when i got my class3.

Hi.. I'm a current learner from CDC. If you guys don't mind me asking and posting in this thread, for those who have been on the road, just to verify, if you stopped at the filter lane because you need to give way to traffic, before moving off you

a) Check back left?

b) Check back right?

c) Check back right and left?

Your guidance is much appreciated. :)

At filter lane you should

1 check traffic

2 when no traffic Check Back Right

3 when moving off Check Left blindspot.

Hope this helps :)

They play the same video for 2A also.... I suppose it makes u think twice about doing "heroics" on the road...

Not to be a wet blanket, but learning 2B isn't as easy as many pple make it out to be. The dropout rate is more than double that of any other class in driving school.

And never underestimate the devastating effects of friction on appearance. Guys generally don't mind a little scarring here and there, but ladies have a lot more to lose.

Tks for the advice dude.... but I will still try it nice n slow

that's y see if any ladies here gg to enroll.... perhaps can do it

together n also motivate each other...:)

Cheers ... gd day

There are always ladies in the classes, so you are not alone :)

Few tips to help u

1. Clutch control is VERY important. It's just like car clutch, u master the half clutch technique you have it made.

2. Rear brakes are your best friend in the CIRCUIT. You "snatch" the front brake, you fall... You step on the rear brakes u slow down. Front brakes are stronger but it makes u lose balance easier. So apply it gradually.

3. Grip the tank with u thighs. It makes u "become one" with the bike and u don't wobble so much.

4. Never fully release your clutching 1st gear. It's too torquey to control as a beginner... Always use clutch control when in 1st gear. Unless going down slope. Else Don't.

5. "look at where you are going"... In short you look at the curb... Yes you are going there...

6. Relax your elbow. Stiff elbows cannot turn the handlebars...

Hope this helps ! There are many lady riders out there. Soon you will join their ranks!

Invest in a good pair of gloves. Leather ones with the skid pads are best. I rode with full face and leather gloves and jacket even when I was on my phantom... I get weird looks frompeople, but end of the day... It's my life and my body. So wat if it is hot and i"m wearing a jacket.... It's mesh btw.

I switch to Xperia Z1.... Haha waterproof phone cool.

I had a huge blue black at my left chest because I was behind a truck carrying stone one of it dropped and after bouncing off the road it came straight for me... I didn't "siam" cause too many bikes zooming around so just "took" the hit. The stone was only about 1 inch diameter... Not funny....

Next jacket I buy will have some front armor.... Haha and stay far far away from those trucks.

"Checking left blind spot and checking back left is totally different."

How different? And what's the difference?

I use this to gauge.

Check back - look at the person behind u and what is the number tag? If u did not see it. Check back fail.

Check blind spot - over the shoulder look. Your head should turn at least 45-60 degrees... Cause you are looking for bikes BESIDE and slightly behind you in the areas which your mirror cannot "see".
