Hi, i was looking for a similar thread, was thinking of something similar myself. I made a call to a local shipping company and was quoted 3.9k for one motorcycle a one way trip to NZ. Or 6K for the whole container to NZ, which can hold about 6-12 motorcycles depending if you stack them or not. I was told that it would take about 14 days to arrive at the destination and that we would need to be in the country when it arrives. It would spend about 2-3 days in quarantine before you can ride off. The return trip price may vary as they need to check with their NZ counterparts.

However, we need to do quite a fair bit of paper work, apply with LTA to get a temp permit (sorry i forgot the name of it) so that we do not get charged GST when the bike comes back to singapore, and with NZ to get permission before setting sail to bring the bike there.

It also has to be bone dry and really really clean. NZ will thoroughly check the bike as they are very strict with bringing in foreign dirt into the country. (serious)

Thats on top of all the other paper work we need to do once we get there, like insurance and the like...

There's probably more info i left out as i'm still in the early stages of planning. Although i must say 3.9k one way is def not affordable for me...

Hope it helps. Maybe if we can get about 10 riders it would be worth sharing shipping... just thinking aloud...

Regards,

Jemmo
