Well bro, almost, almost.....

Had actually queried for CB13 Bol d'or.. Sums was listed, did my own calculations, not worth it as it meant I could've went for a 4 wheeler instead..

So after discussing with my missus, went for the more practical-affordable-maintainable instead, but not common bunch type... :D

 

STX was way out of my budget... Guess nxt time bah...

Guess what I saw today! A Russian made URAL bike! OMG.... this make is sooooo rare..... vintage class with a sidecar... BEEYOOOTEEEFOOL!

Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to hear it running.

I'm actually on a working trip over several US locations, but spending my weekends on sightseeing. Those of you who have me on facebook can see my entire album.. :smile:

Whoa nice ural.

They are made with BMW technology taken by rusia after WW2. were know as M 650 very popular in East Europe, but prone to constant fixing and knocking. The side car (my fav:bounce: ) was designed to house a gunner.

It's technology hasn't changed much since after WW2 therefor is still a classic piece

Kiam I believe Ural is quite cheap comparatively.

I just love the looks, feel and sound of an old good Guzzi, though it has been around since the time of my Grandfather. I guess "they" don't do things like that anymore! Well it's not true.

I can't make a wholesale comment & say they are cheaper, but it certainly appears to be so (looking at the machine prices). One thing for sure, they sure have a sh!tload more choices.

You could say that again Kev.

It is really wicked and when is iddling you can hear the humming of the pistons.

Technology wise hasn't changed much since 50 years ago (time of my Grandfather!!!) but it really packs a punch. They were massproduced in Rusia then and were available to all the then eastern block. Were mostly used by the army due to its roughness and easy maintenance.

The side cars are still popular and even the Guzzi (my siggy) gets them from Ural.

A military version is a real head turner.

Don't think bikes are allowed to have passenger side cars in Singapore. For those bikes with cargo sidecars e.g. ice-cream bikes, they are not allowed on the expressways, so they will be stuck in traffic on trunk roads like all other cars.

Passenger side cars are not allowed in Sg or M'sia, only cargo ones.

Yet while they are nice to see, riding with one is quite cumbersome. you can't slant in curves and in sharp bends the car might lift off the ground when opposite the bend.

On top of it will strain the arm (right one) due to the weight of the car.

Yet long journeys are really classic on it.

by the way..how about trikes .by adding 2 more wheels?? saw and add where u can just add some sort of trailer kind of frame to it,,,,i suppose it will end up as 4 wheeler>>>>ya..maybe they say go to car dept ..please.

 

ATV...those 4 wheelers with bike engines ...mainly see them running dunes or beach. are they allowed too..anyone knoes allowed in sin city???

 

while browsing the net...saw this advert Chinese mfg..LIFAN..ATV us$800 (S$1100+)..

200 cc legal street bike us$1499(S$2100) with fairings..etc etc..

If you are serious for a three wheeler get piagio mp3. It now comes on 500CC.

MP3...ya..have seen tp riding it....but auto scooter maintenance is a pain in the u know where...

have bad experiences with it...

I have never seen trikes for sale in Singapore. Conversion kits for some bikes are available online, bit they are probably not street legal anyway.

 

Just out of curiousity, what are you riding now why do you want a trike?

 

You realize that a trike has to be driven (like a car) , & not ridden? You lose all the kicks of riding once you have "trainer" wheels.

 

IMHO, its insanity to want a trike in a city like Singapore. You lose the commuting convenience, parking convenience & riding fun. What is your motivation to want one?
