anyone know the process of laid up a bike? then dont need buy insurance and rd tax for mths....

Think you need to go down to lta office to apply for it....

go down to LTA with your IC and $6. Go to 2nd floor, get form, fill up, get Q number...

need to go inspection. and buy insurance and road tax.. u need to tow it to the inspection centre.. cannot ride there.. cos no road tax and insurance..

after the lay up period, you gotta tow it to inspection centre to get it inspected before you can get insurance and renew road tax

Think twice, izzit worth it? For 3 months? I laid up before and heard they (LTA) will ask you where you park your motor at which carpark or lot number number. They will ask someone to check it which i dun think they will!!

That's right... Cannot ride the bike on any gazetted road in Singapore...

u want u can risk it.. but my advise.. no point.. $15 tow service.. just use it..

and YES you need to pay for inspection.... after lay up....

 

for the trouble and $$$ wise.. might not be worth it to lay up if its a mere 3 months..

upon layin up the bike, in order to get it back on the road, it has to go thru inspection. irregardless when the inspection was done just 3months before anot, it still have to go for another inspection.

 

only then you can buy your insurance and road-tax..

Before you laid up, by right you need not go for inspection unless it is time for inspection for your coming road tax and insurance. If you wanna use back you NEED to go for inspection, road tax and insurance.

but, like they said, you can do anything you want (legal or otherwise), as long as you dont get caught.

 

just dun kpkb when commiting offence and kena caught...jus deal with it!

i laid up my bike on 28 july... so before the date arrive, i go for my bike inspection that will last 3 mths if not have to go for another inspection.

 

Before 3 mths, i get my insurance and just get my rd tax at sim lim lta then can ride le =p
