ME too. most of us would surely turn our head very often. but i am sure that instance when i turn my head to see the ane driver trying to sip his tea tarik will be imbedded in my memory and am sure in a video it would surely be seen.

I used to put my camera on top of my helmet but it was troublesome i agree but i realise i dont really watch the video nowadays anymore. just in my mind touch wood if any accident it will whover see the video, it can help.

thinking of getting a cam, mainly for *touchwood* disputes incidents. but wud also be fun to occasionally film rides. Will it be better to have cam on bike or helmet?

i have tried both. you should go to the forum where they discuss abt bike cam. currently many riders buy cam placed on their bikes(well hidden) by sellers. Duo has one. for me , i modify using the accesorries that come with the cam when i ordered online. as a guy who is so crazy abt changing bike, i dont wish to put cam permanently on the bike bec every 6month i change a different one. so i put my cam on my helmet or near the mirror or rear box.

Personally , I dont think so.if you are talking about installing it permanently to the bike, basically its just installing a cam to the bike. just ensure you dont connect the cam direct to the battery. this will surely drain the battery quickly.

While I dont know many riders who have brand new bikes and install the cam, but I have seen many new bikes with the cam installed permanently. You should ask the agent then if you not too sure

Tried both also but prefer it to be on the bike. Coz :cheeky:https://youtu.be/OM7zRfHG0no

I was also thinking of installing in bike cam but was reluctant cos I thought its tapping power fm the bike battery.
As previously mentioned by Mr Biker to not connect it directly to the battery. Actually try not to connect anything directly to the battery and you should be fine.

Anything here is referring to all those gadgets and gizmos riders nowadays like to install. Of course the mains from the bike have to be installed to the battery. Pardon me for not stating it clearly. Thought that was common sense? Guess not.

But then again the IU also direct to battery. That one LTA engineer say one. I am no engineer but just someone who happens to ride a bike.

what are you using? I was previously looking at Bikeview C3-HD & BlackView SC300 but I recall both are connected to bike battery? or are there options for external batt?

actually the IU unit shud comes with a switch to off it so that it doesn't drain off the bike battery when not riding for a long time.

Ask yourself if you want it to be consuming battery 24/7.

ideally it shud auto on when engine starts... off when engine stops followed by parking mode recording when engine is off. So ideally it shud be recording 24/7. BUT it shud not drain off bike battery so shud have an external battery that auto charges when u r riding. anything out there?

as for the number of channels, for bike ideally shud have 3 channels. all 3 positioned at the front. The centre 1 pointing front , 1 each at the side pointing back to capture side & rear. But I have not come across such configuration.

Ideally it should. When connected directly to the battery you think it would be like so?

It's a matter of design... car dashcam already has overcome those issues.. tougher for bikes cos of the elements n operating conditions but I'm certain we will get there some day. I'm just not sure where we are now on the latest products.

its raining today & chances of accidents is generally higher but saw many riders increase their risks of injuries by ditching their shoes n wear slippers...

Any raining shoes/covers to recommend?

After contemplating for almost 45 minutes this rainy morning, I decided against my better judgement to ride to work. Many impatients drivers , afew near hits.

What I would like to ask is this. In my 25 years plus of riding, I think I may have riden in the rain around several hundred days. And out of those days, I think I can count on my ten fingers and maybe include my toes the number of times I have seen TP on rainy days.

Now you may ask my why I am asking his question. Answer is obvious. When it rains, people tend to be late . So they like myself (going against my better judgment to ride today), would compensate their lateness by driving without due attention.

On the highway, many drivers/riders are cutting in and out of traffic like nobody business. One GS was riding like he trusted his bike so much. He forgets , car drivers are human too. Thus I think TP should have more staff on rainy days.

From what I have seen while riding on rainy days, TP patrol officers on bikes will either be at the rain shelter, bus stops, some nearby police station or petrol kiosks. And many drivers still not switching on headlights before 0700hours.

i have a feeling like TP/ LTA job is more like chaeffuring VIP and standing at the side of the road just watching vehicle passing by. Lucky got somebody ride fast , go after them. Why would them go on their bikes in the rain. Its not like they have to be at the office like most of us.

decided to go via KPE today, the heat was crazy. n there's a part where there's a big blower I can feel that its almost blowing me off course.. got a shock and had to counter the wind effect to stay straight. Then saw a rider with full riding jacket & full face.. kudos to him he can withstand the heat and stay true to dressing up safely.

Made me feel guilty wearing an open face. Any full face or modular to recommend that is small/compact, got big vertical & horizontal opening for upride riding?

Used to like riding in tunnels. Not so anymore now.

Get to ride to work and then realised the battery is going "kaput'. Forgotten to disconnect the battery when not used for almost 2 weeks. :(

Will have to ride around abit to charge it up. Also thinking of getting a trickle charger so can charge batteries when need to. Anyone can point me in the right direction?

Almost got sideswiped by a driver who attempted the signal and lane changing move. Managed to swerve away safely due to the other lane being empty. Driver happened to stop at the next traffic light that I was heading to. Light was red stopped beside him and gestured to wind down the window. Told him I was beside him when he changed lane without checking. Told him its not just checking the mirror but must also check the blindspot. He apologized and so I let it go. Was still angry though.
