Batt very flat, so cannot crank.

If I'm not wrong, the PGO style of electric might be the same as

italian in some way. For piaggio bikes, The batt is part of the ignition circuit.

Take out the batt and u will never be able to kick start. cos the electric flow is

from coil to batt then to the rest of the ignition system. (I might be wrong)

Further more, to be frank, I don't think my kick starting skill is correct.

Too rusty.

When My bike is new, I can kick 10 times still cannot start. But G_max, just kick 1 time and my bike will be running. Guess must be my technique. :cheeky:

lol aiya last time i kick start all kinds of scramblers so i kick start any bikes also can. You need a little practice lah. Just dun give up. The technique is impt bro. Nvm drill you the next time I see you. You dun start you dun go home.

Your attitude is either your best friend or worst enemy, your greatest asset or your greatest liability.

I did manage to kick start my gmax without the battery as lazy to fix it back just to measure which wire to tap for 3rd brake light when I tear it up ,so must be your skill :help:

I know it's my skill :cheeky:

But I learned something. Next time if the starter hasitate before cranking, it means that it's going to flat soon. I'll bring up and charge. Make use of the $28 charger :cheeky:

BC Bro, practice makes perfect...

You need more time to get used to kick starting...

Yeah... Must make full use of the $28 charger, if not rusty.... kekeke...

at HQ?? :cheeky:

how's everyone? i like long time didn't sit in front of the comp liao... :weep:

1 way to prevent the batt discharging is to unplug the light in the underseat compartment... i did that cos dun wanna waste the batt power.

Hi Bros, great idea.. Adding on a on/off switch is good. On only when you need to use.:thumb:

Quite easy to do lor. Either use those round ones(easier to install just drill!) or rectangular ones(you either use a drill to get the right shape and then file or use a nibbler tool).

I think I'll install mine when I have the time and show you all. I want to put in a 12V car socket too... haven go and search for it yet. Very useful if stuck on the highway puncture or belt break or for torchlight... but most importantly must have to tools on hand. If not for that purpose also can use for charging handphone!!! heh heh...

Just thought of an idea to monitor batt and add a low fuel warning light.

After going thru some of the schematics. I came up an idea to monitor both batt and fuel without any change to the panels and drillings.

given that our dashboard light up is done by 2 T10 wedge bulb.

One on bottom left, one on top right.

We will work on these 2 bulb.

First we get 2 T10 wedge LED bulb. disect them and change the led inside.

Change the bulb to super white led and red led. The white Led will connect to the

original terminal that is at the base of the bulb. This will light upthe dash board.

The second set of red led will connect to addition wire that is comming out from the side. The additional wire will be connected to a flasher relay, then to a electronic module.

This module will be power by the main 12v batt. and the signal to the fuel guage.

The signal reading is in ohms. At low ohm/resistance, the module will not supply any power to light up the red sets of led. Once the resistance reach a specific high resistance, it will then then power up the flashing red LED. When the fuel guage point low fuel mark, it's actually high resistance. Actually resistance value I donno. but can be found out at a simple test.

The red led flashes, what u will see is that the top right side will have a red flashing lighting.

Purpose of this is to calibrate the flashing light to come on when the fuel level reach a true reserve of 1 liter. usually when the fuel meter reach "E" and is not dropping, I can only squeeze in 5.7 liter of petrol. In other words, there's still 2.3 liter of petrol left in the tank.

Of course, the most inportant part is to find the maximum and minium resistance value when the fuel float is at the max and min position. Only then, we will know whether this mod make sense.

if the max resistance is at XXXohm. And the float is at the lowest position and the fuel left is 2.3 liters. Then, this will be pointless.

The next led T10 mod is the same but maybe use another colour instead of red.

This will be connected to a voltage monitor module. When volatge drops to 12.5V, this will power on the relay and flash the leds Blue/green or amber? led. Depending what colour u mod in. when this led is flashing, u know that u batt is going flat soon.

This will stop the issues of volt meter might get stolen too

How's the idea?

sorry no time to digest yet cos in a hurry to beat that pesky evening jam at 2nd link. Your idea seems doable but is quite comprehensive.

I'm sure I can dig out some schematics of a low voltage indicator eg the LED lights up at 10V or something like that.

I've modified my panel by installing Blue LEDs thro drilling 5mm holes at all the strategic locations.

What we can do is maybe to use a different LED colour that is VERY obvious at the panel so when lo batt it can be seen. Will need to explore further

that is quite idea oso...

dun i read liao i :giddy: leh. hehehehe.... :cheeky:

anyway, i believe this can b worked out by changing n switching panal lights.

Do it simple rather then complicated cos if suay suay got any prob can troubleshoot easily oso... :cheer:

Voltage monitoring I got already.

let my dad see already, he say got some of the IC and the parts I need lying somewhere.

Now left the resistance monitoring circuitary

Guess gonna test out further before actual consrtuction.

Yo bro, check out with you.

Am I right to say that our dash board is quite empty?

meaning that other than the mechanism that is meant for the meters

and light. The rest of the location is very empty and actually can drill thru?

yeah its pretty empty. You can actually take it apart right into the internals and drill the bottom cover safely.

My RPM gauge went haywire today. I was redlining all the way and sometimes OVER! dunno what happen. gotta go HQ this evening to check it out.
