Hi bros and sis, I need some help in regards to transferring of ownership for a used bike. Getting a used bike from a direct seller and it's my first time so I hope you guys can guide me through it.

Note that I've researched online on what to do but there is no clear cut on what documents to bring. There are only guidelines to what documents there are to be filled.

If any kind soul out there can help out, please help state what documents do I have to bring over to LTA or just bring along both seller's and buyer's IC plus insurance and we can fill the required documents there? Better if you can state the full procedure on doing it.

Should I head to a bike shop to help with the transfer instead? Kindly advice. Thanks in adv!

IC and insurance paper.

Go LTA get queue number, while waiting, fill in the transfer form available from the counter where you get the queue number.

Very easy one. Best to pass cash after ownership has been transferred, you pass him money, he pass you key.

Don't immediately ride off though, let him count and say his last words to the bike first.

Oh that's pretty easy. Okay, so just to double confirm just do up your insurance, cover starts from the day of transfer. Head over to LTA with insurance paper and IC to settle transferring of ownership?

I checked on LTA website, seems like I need to fill in some other documents like 'power of attorney' etc.. All these will be done at LTA? They will have the necessary documents ya?

Any heads up on what relevant documents the seller should pass to me and is there any way to protect the seller and myself if I'm going to pass him cash to settle his early settlement fees etc before the transfer? Thanks in adv!

Buyer:

(1) Bring your IC and a valid insurance certificate.

(2) Go LTA Sin Ming

(3) Prepare $11 transfer fee.

Between seller and buyer - just need proof that seller reserved the bike for you after buyer paid deposit. Ensure both turn up on the agreed date of transfer.
