Congrats on passing your tp! I only passed 2 weeks before you...

Its best that you check out the bikes with some experienced friends, especially those who have changed their bikes plenty of times... they would know what to look out for, i.e. whether the bike had been through accident or not, engine ok or not, whether the price is reasonable etc.

I have learnt a lot during the past 3 weeks, but I know it is no where near sufficient for me to judge if a bike is a good buy or not... in the end, I chose to get a cheap, abused bike which I would change out most of its parts as I intend to keep it for a long period of time

anyway since you posted in the phantom knights section that means you would have some interest in phantoms! there are many people here who would agree that it is a cheap, reliable bike. Don't believe the nay-sayers, but the phantom is quite good at sharp turnings too! I always u-turn using only 1 lane ^^

the knob is known as idling. do a search on phantom manual.

For tyre pressure, depends on load and tyres that you are using. 220-245 as suggested for most.

Insurance last year at 604 ntuc third party. I think now up already. call to enquire.

hi,

one question ah, TA150 and TA200, the "ferring" the paintwork parts, like tank, the front fender and rear one are they interchangerable? that means same size?

I thinking of trading with a TA150 for the black one.. cuz stock paint is better and also cheaper! somemore my paintwork still in good condition if just paint over damn wasted!

I have a white blue one right now! if anyone interested in trading, can pm me!

hehe... since you want to change your tank's colour, might as well get a nice big modded tank from madman eh? then you go jb pump petrol come back sell... and you can happily paint the design you want without getting the original tank "wasted"

when your tuning gets richer/leaner, sound changes. Its like revving more or less.

Your 2t pump should have the valve? maybe MIA Replay can help :]

I hope mine forever drops and sticks below 200 :]

Anyone else riding TA150 here?? Notice that when i hit 100km/h, my bike's vibration seems to be a lot leh.. is it normal?? Other than that, the bike is in great condition. :)

mitsui_kobe, it's normal for TA150/200 to vibrate at 100km/h for the reasons:

- This vibration comes from the solidly mounted engine/transmission unit, and is usually felt most in the handlebars, and to a lesser extent in the footpegs.

- The handlebars are where most riders find XL vibration most irritating at high cruising speeds. Vibration is due to the motor and not the fault of the handlebars, whatever their shape. However, generally speaking, the longer the handlebar, the greater the amplitude of the vibration. At the same time, the frequency tends to be lower. The reverse is usually true for shorter handlebars.

What I wanted to ask PKs is abt a 'key set-less' (new model) phantom I saw. The ignition key switch was missing on this phantom & is placed at the top of the control panel (where the neutral light is).

Is this an optional version of the phantom nowadays?
