DIY- Cyclocomputer Digital Speedometer Upgrade

Notice that other vehicles have different speeds when traveling side-by-side?

Unsure if the analog speedometer is really accurate?

Prefer easier to read numbers than a stick on a dial?

Install a cyclocomputer!

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=313&pictureid=1956http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=313&pictureid=1957

Features & Functions

* 999km/h max speed

* electronic backlight

* digital clock

* detachable, prevent theft

* resetable digital odometer, good for accurately calculating actual Fuel Consumption

* average speed and max speed (good for lacers)

* splash proof (as long as you don't ride into a 'longkang')

* programmable to different wheel sizes

* can be installable on ANY bike, but CBR150 would be better =)

This 30 min DIY project will cost between $55 to $65, depending on the number of sets i order from the supplier. DIY session dates are either 5th September (Saturday) or 13th September (Sunday). Please let me know if you're interested so i can do a MO!

I'm interested, what's the best price?

1. midzi/cbr 15000... kidding cbr 150

2. Kenneth.C / CBR250

3. liz/cbr150 -> tentative, wants to see best price first :D

4. arinto/CBR(((179 x 5) + 10) mod 151) --> idem with liz, tentative depends

on the best price..

5. Tdks tentative depends on the best price..

6. Norisha R. (highly contingent on the price)

MO closes on 30th August.

May I know where you will conduct the DIY session?

one of my headlight lamps has just passed away... *sob sob*

is it better to do DIY or go to workshop? How much does it cost to fix this problem in workshop?

It seems that we need to disassemble the CBR's head in order to get into the lamp... CMIIW...

need input.. thanks2..

Get workshop to do for you..... you will burst a blood vessel without any method (or tool for that matter) to screw the 3 legged bulb socket back in..... lights don't cost much.. bout $3/bulb.. it's not worth the frustration to DIY!! :angry::angry::angry:

On a side note.... our rear tail light and signal is only $1!!!!! And they fix it for me too!!!

i'll arrange to go buy all the DIY parts.

will use your car to collect if too many things.

When he open, she cant go out. When she can go out, he close. How? LOL

I wouldnt agree with u when it comes to bulb DIY. For me, the satisfaction (benefits) out-weight the frustration (costs). We (humans) need to learn how to control our own frustration. Its our life's learning curve. :angel:

Guys, ride safely. Road is not for playing.

DIY- DIgital Gear Indicator Upgrade[/b][/size]

You guys remember our Philippines friend, Aris Reyes and his gear indicator?

http://i511.photobucket.com/albums/s351/zalvaje22/gear-indicator-1.jpg

I have been in discussions with him, the minimum quantity I must order is 4 pieces, priced at SGD$60 each, before he will send to us. If anyone is to see the gear indicator project here in Singapore, i'll need some help.

I can help!

1. collectees

2. midzi like dat i prefer fix the gear indicator then the digimeter

doing this to support the CBR community we have here

For our CBR150 HS-H6M better to DIY...... anyone change the footrest brake switch b4 mine dun seem to be working !!

hm..gd wat? easier to squeeze between cars during jams.

:lol:

alternatively, get a wide bodykit!

pimp yr cbr. :p

That is true..... Rides like a malaysian. Lol.

Cos it read too many fashion magazines and became anorexic... .

Ya.. man.... Even Daelim 125 looks stronger

Why compare across classes? The TZM is smaller than the R6 too. Having said that however, the CBR is skinnier than other sports bikes in the same class.

But what is more interesting is if the dimensions of the bike makes it's handling better or worse. I think the seat height is a little high but it makes for a pretty comfortable ride.

Something to ruminate about?

Even Honda own Vara125 looks more marcho.

Seat height is fine. The seat itself is too thin.

Still meditating.....

stock Stanley bulb costs $6 from Everfit. LAB bulbs costs $2.

it's a 10 min DIY job, no need to remove anything. you just need small hands. go buy the bulb and we'll DIY on our upcoming session!

Okie.. noted..

i'd advice u to use the stock Stanley bulbs even though it may be a bit pricier.

i have used $2-$4 non Stanley bulbs and they blew again within 2 weeks.... till i changed to stock Stanley bulbs (approx $6-$8) and it has lasted since 20000+ till 42XXX (now).

Okie.. noted too..

Talking about battery, what are the signs that the battery needs to be replaced? And how long is the battery lifespan?

All depend on the quality of the battery & maintainance of your battery thru regular charging. Mine 1st CBR150 lasted 3.5years & the 2nd a shorter version is still running strong after 2 years.

Tuas track open for sports bikes up to 150cc, this Saturday (29 Aug) night from 7 PM to midnight.

No leather suit required but at least wear a padded jacket, jeans, boots, gloves and a full face helmet for your own protection.

Five hours of track fun for only $30

The gear indicator is inside the rpm meter? Or is it just sticking on the outside?
