I've been browsing the forums for a few days now but still havent found any decent CBR150s.

Would like it to be in above average quality and all. Any intro that you guys might have?

Go shops and find. From my walking around changi rd and serangoon road bikeshops... I occasionaly see cbr new and used popping up there.

To all CBR-ians

I was just quoted the price of 4.7k (Machine) for CBR150. Include insurance all those would amount to around 7.8k?

Is it expensive for a 1st hand CBR? Sorry, trying to find out opinions as I lack bike experience.

Thank you

Sorry

Forgot to include that COE price quoted was 1500+ and insurance for me (2nd party) would be around 1600+ since I'm only 19yo.

Would the quotation be counted as expensive?

You can call insurance company to get a quote from them... i think at 19years only NTUC take in.

Another question you may want to ask yourself is do you really want a brand new bike.... later you get class 2A see all your friends change super 4, RVF all those will your backside be itchy to change bike? Speaking from experience most definitely yes.

Hm, since I dont have my license yet. Do you recommend buying the bike first and getting insurance later or..?

Hm, regarding this, I'm hesitant to buy a 2nd hand one as I am not adept at checking the bike's condition. Also, since I dont have any friends experienced in bikes, couldnt call them along for viewing. In the worst case scenario, have to overhaul within a few months of buying a 2nd hand bike :(

Omg since u got no license, why would u buy the bike first? Of cos get license then say lah. Ur insurance wont change much (yes, under 21, only ntuc will take u so its LLST), but who knows tmr coe prices plummet and that will save u half of it? It is just so financially unwise to get a new bike without any license at all, considering that u wont know how long u will take to get it..

Just afraid that the bike will go out of stock :cheeky:

Maybe I should liaise with the bike shop to reserve it for me? Is it possible?

No such thing. Cbrs are everywhere.. Though they dont have ready stock, but they wont go out of stock. Just wait lah, they will order in for u, in the colour u want. U gotta wait for them to settle paperwork and get number plate anyway.. That already takes one week.. What is waiting for one more week extra? Not as if u got ur license waiting in ur pocket already mah. I took my license in 4 mths plus, and that is with twice to thrice a week for lessons.. And a first time pass. If suay suay u take longer, u wanna pay for a bike that u can only see and touch but not ride in ur carpark, with season parking? Its up to u.. But i would rather wait for 2 weeks from date of purchase for the bike to arrive, than to stare at it for months and cannot ride it. Additional temptation to just go ahead and ride for two rounds in ur carpark is worse. Drop also heart bleed, kena caught by tp, i think u will have to sell the bike without even getting ur license yet.

Just my 2, ok maybe 20 cents..

Ohh, okay then. With your assurance, I think I'd buy after I get my license :)

But what I find weird is that when I call Boon Siew and other reputed bike shops, they mentioned that CBR150 is not in production anymore.

So I was afraid that it might go out of stock :/

Someone isn't too fond of SPs huh hahaha.

Concur with Whitefang. Best to wait.

Whenever you might be looking @ 2nd hand bikes, just bring a friend anyway, some1 cynical and analytical to help keep your head cool. I can also PM you certain areas to look out for from my limited experience when that time comes.

Haha no la... point being if the bike is good and/or popular enough... it will tend to stick around... look at all those RxK 20 years and still OTR, SP 10 years and still OTR...
