hey guys, any of you experienced this b4? - Engine continuously dying a few secs after pushing the ignition start button. This kept happening to my cbr150 recently, and the problem came after i had the carb washed. Engine doesn't die when i start riding.. Spark plug & engine oil were recently changed but problem still persists.

Yes i got the same problem now.... but living with it... suspect my carb parts worn already.... will try to wash and see how.

to check rear wheel bearings, lift rear wheel off e ground. try to push & pull e wheel left & right (perpendicular to swingarm). if there's quite a bit of shaking, bearings r gone. u may also want to consider getting the wheel hub rubber damper changed as well.

to check front wheel bearings, also lift front wheel of e ground. also push & pull e wheel left & right (perpendicular to swingarm). if there's quite a bit of shaking, bearings r gone. there's no rubber damper for e front wheel.

since problem came after carb was washed, maybe the carb wasn't fitted back properly? or the tuning not done correctly?

what's e RPM when engine is idling?

if it's 1K or below, quite likely it's too low already.

first FC calculated based on 14-44 sprocket is 37.7 kpl

today after ride on the rain, park my bike then notice lot of hot water falling from the radiator (left bottom). i push it upright no water. whats this? anyone?

my coolant is pink color, so it cant be radiator leaking. nvr mixed my coolant with water at all.

maybe just some accumulated rain water somewhere on e bike since u just travelled in e rain? im not surprised that e accumulated rain water is hot/warm since heat frm engine can travel... :cheeky:

were u the bro who posted abt yr gf's cbr150 kena stolen and after that recovered back? i tink the bike has undergone super transformation! :thumb:

i cant be sure whether is it possible to find wheel hub for the spoke rims that can fit our original brake disc perfectly. if cannot, then this mod is going to be costly.

got a feeling that the shop will recommend u:

- y125z wheel hub (front & rear)

- yr choice of spoke rims + spokes

- y125z brake discs

- modify relevant spacers to align spoke rims w/ caliper

if the y125z brake discs are different size from our stock discs, add in the price of getting new metal bracket to mount e brake calipers.

total amount spent for the mod may easily run to $300 & above.

KR hubs should be ok too.

but stock KR comes w/ sport rims too right? those that convert to spoke rims, are those even considered as using original KR hub?

:cheeky:

if it's all aftermarket hubs, might as well use something that is more commonly available/cheaper, i.e. y125z hub.

maybe the shop can even recommend u some wavey or upsized brake disc they use for y125z.

it's important to go to a gd shop for this mod. plenty of detailed work required in terms of grinding the spacer in order to get accurate alignment of caliper w/ brake disc after fitting on the new wheel hub. if it's not done properly, brake pads keep rubbing against brake disc even when u r not braking = waste of petrol + reduce brake effectiveness.

worn parts? wah my one FBD plate only leh.....

as what Don asked earlier, whats ur rpm at idle? stock should be 1.3 or 1.4k rpm. below than that, u can just adjust the idling to solve ur problem.

anyway, y did u wash ur carb since its FBD? :wonder:

Guys, ride safely. Road is not for playing.

ok i found out how to adjust idle speed alr...

hm...did adjusting idling speed solve the issue for u?

anyway..i guess that piece of advice from yr friend isn't exactly that accurate.

im assuming that the carburettor only needs to be cleaned if it's dirty.

perhaps can try asking him casually e next time u meet him/her...what can lead to dirt in the carburettor?

im curious to know his answer. :cheeky:

Yea apparently my idling speed was at 1k rpm.. & tweaking it to 1.3/1.4k rpm was what solved the problem =).... Now i'm jus wondering if the mechanic actually lowered the idle speed when he washed the carb..

honestly i've no idea y it's 12k... since i'm a sucker for bike maintenance i jus went ahead & cleaned it.. haha... When do you guys wash your carb then?

when there is a problem where we suspect the carb is the culprit.

Today i went to get my spark plug cable replaced.... as it was discovered to be loose and worn already... hope that solves the problem of bike dying...

Also washed the carb.... din realize how dirty it was till i was taken out, the whole carb was black as if got 2T stuck on it... and one of the jets inside was blocked...
