Last May i changed my chain to RK-X ring. I made the decision as i was told that when taken care of, the chain can last you beyond a year, in good cases, up to 3 years.

This May, i was told my sprocket can last me only another month, and was recommended to change both. I was dumbfounded.

Is it general that both must be changed together? Can i just change the sprocket alone? My rk-x ring is in good condition - it needed no adjust over one year.

If the sprocket cannot last, there is no point choosing a good chain since the weaker dictates the change of both.

moral of the story is dont get chains that are too lasting. :cheeky: my last chain didnt require a single bit of tightening, but sprockets were worn out already.

:sian:

ended up also change both sprocket + chain set together. this time i told LAB, average quality chain can already.

I got a sad story to tell.

But I lazy to type.

Morale of the story: Don't suka suka (anyhow) ask bikeshop to claim insurance for you.

They always said, "sure win", "most likely" to win. Tons of bullshit!

With reference from my past thread: http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/279756-Regarding-legal-costs-on-bike-accident

Now the case has gone up to a higher level. I am required to attend court soon as both parties could not come out with an agreement sum to settle.

Apparently, the judge will decide what's the percentage of liability for each involved parties. The driver has a passenger which is also a witness. I have none. It's up the judge now to decide if he finds the witness's statement stands. If it is, the case is not in favor of me.

In order to not pay any legal fees, repair costs and any MISC fees, the other party has to reach a liability of 80%. Only then, their insurance company pay out.

For my case, it is already impossible for him to reach 80% either way. Their story is totally different from me. Last time, I signed a document warranting the law firm to pay the bike shop $1800 first to repair my bike. The bikeshop told me it's just a procedure which I happily and stupidly enough to believe.

The aftermath now is, how much % i had to pay back is based on the sum of difference in compensation (which liability plays a big part in determining the compensation). I will have to bear the legal costs, and probably repair costs. I called the bikeshop boss, telling him off that it is impossible for the repairs to reach $1800. Then he said he will adjust the costs if the case "buang". I don't know how true can it be.

This shop definitely not Planet btw.

If anyone wants to know more in details, during meet-up maybe I will explain further.

this case drag for so long ah? this wasn't due to the last accident that warrant your SP as scrap condition right?

i think it's not fair to utilise the lorry passenger as the witness in this case. use ass to think also know who the passenger will help.

Hey, anybody experience knocking sound in engine? Is it normal? I just noticed it recently, when I rev the bike lightly can hear but it hides behind the engine sound so its not obvious.

Will hear tomorrow and provide more details if you guys could help :S Works fine though. Any idea what might have caused it?
