then u've got the reason for the skidding.

the specific model of IRC tyres (original) that come w/ the bike are crappy.

my CBR is registered Oct 2002. I think due for scrap next year right? How much is it worth if I sell it off? can get 1.5k or more? haha.

answer is simple.

to buy a Oct 2002 registered CBR150, how much would u pay?

Bros, nxt year April ( april 2012) my insurance finish , road tax finish and i need go inspection . By the time April comes I'll be 20 (if 26 april and beyond) & my P-Plate take out alrdy (27 Jan 2012 can take out) .. So i want know to renew insurance how much need to pay ? is there a small fee need to pay to renew or need to get quoting frm insurance company just like how I buy insurance when first time buy bike (which is = 1k plus) & also how is the inspection procedure ? Please advice , thanks ! (:

usually the insurance company will mail u a renewal letter, indicating the premium to pay. if you are keen, just pay up. u may wan to call and check out the premium with other insurance companies just in case there's a cheaper one out there with similar coverage amounts.

then there is also the vehicle inspection reminder letter (if your vehicle is 3yrs old or older) and the road tax renewal reminder letter. total of 3 letters you will receive over a period of time ranging from 1 to 3months before the expiry of your insurance/roadtax. you should clear both inspection & insurance renewal before you can renew road tax.

vehicle inspection for bikes costs around $18. insurance premium as per what the insurer quotes. road tax $32 per 6mths.

your bike is FBD plate? don't think it has reached 3yrs old right? so no need inspection.

suggest you popby some bikeshops to check out how much are they selling their 2nd hand cbr150.

figure out the market price and then set yr own!

forget abt trying to sell at prices above that of the bikeshops though. cause bikeshop prices are usually quite inflated already. :p

i guess can try asking for more if you have done up any wear & tear or accessories.

i helped a fren sell off a FBB plate for $3.1k around a year back. fully stock except for tyres.

sell online or to bike shop better?

u can probably get a better price selling and buying online compared to going thru middleman like bikeshops.

some shops claim this is due to the warranty they offer u if u buy the bike from them. but at the same time, there are shops which treat u differently immediately after the purchase. for this selected bad shops, u can forget about any warranty coverage.

ever considered getting a tank bra?

i've seen ready made ones available online. those are meant for sale in the european market for the earlier version of cbr125. the tank looks exactly the same as ours. price is pretty decent. but the cost of shipping is high. i believe motoworld is one of their authorised dealers for singapore.

but pls note that getting a tank bra is probably going to cost u close to that of a new tank. difference is, u can afford a few more dents on the tank w/ a bra. :p

locally, i tink u need to approach places like eugene saddlery. not sure on the cost though.
