i have asked my mech the reason for the depletion of eng oil

1. piston block wear off.

2. pistons + piston ring faulty

solution

1. change piston block

2. change the whole set.

reason y we cant just change the piston rings alone is becoz this is a 4-stoker, not 2-stroker. i also dunno y

he say if SP den change piston ring will be enough.

for ours, have to change the whole set. reason is 4 stroke lor

No more regrets.

The first picture ( orangeish or yellow light ) is the normal HS bulb beam - Driving light. The second picture is the HS-HID 6500kelvin white light beam, they r not legal. As for inspection, i will leave the HS-HID switch off.

Currently most lower CCs bikes come spec wif just the normal bulbs. Halogens are a grade higher in terms of lumen (brightness) & Hids are the highest grade available now. Btw, HIDs can be spec to produce light beam in 3 main colors - 8500kelvin=Blue, 6500kelvin=White & 3850kelvin= Yellow. I hv seen 12,000k=purple & I heard green is also possible now..

I do not have the HS-HID pricing yet ? HS is the type of bulb use in CBR150R, Wave, Phatom & a few more models......... :bouncefire: [/b]

Yeap, our CBR150R is water cool, there is a small radiator in front wif a tiny cooling fan. But i am not sure if it is automatic, like the fan only work if the engine is hot ???

Pictures of my HID light beam - notice how focus they are. The lights are not scattered all over the place, but they are concentrated in fornt of our

travelling direction.........

Normally it's advisable with both a 2 and 4 stroke to replace the piston and rings together.

The pistons usually come in 3 sizes, standard, +1 size and +2 size. With each engine rebuild you hone/polish the block and if necessary you will go up a piston size. Once you get to the largest size and the piston/rings are still too loose then it's time to replace your block.

Unlikely you will have to replace your block unless the bike has already done like 100,000km and the piston/rings have been replaced a few times already or you've had some damage to the block due to totally running out of oil.

Other reason for losing engine oil can be a leaky gasket somewhere that's simply dripping out oil slowly as you ride. If it's your rings you should be able to get someone to ride behind you and when you accelerate hard they should be able to see some hint of white smoke (like with a 2-stroke bike)

A piston/ring kit for the CBR150 won't be too expensive. Normally you will need a new set of gaskets also when doing the rebuild and some mechanics will take the opportunity to replace the timing chain and other critical parts during the process. It is all this work and the extras that increase the cost of the repair.

Yep, most water cooled bikes have a fan behind the radiator. Usually the fan will be off as the movement of the bike draws enough air through the radiator but the fan is there for when you're stuck in a traffic jam and there is very little airflow. There is usually a temp sensor which will activate the fan when necessary. Some stupid mechanics/ppl will hard wire them so that there on all the time but this is not the correct thing to do.

NaRuTo13> I suggest you take your bike to a couple of mechanics and ask for an estimated cost before actually sending the bike in for repair. I guess many will tell you they can't tell till they open up the engine though and once they've done that you're at their mercy. I hope you can find an honest and trustworthy mechanic.

oldest i ever sau is FU plate

maintenance is the same as wave i shld say.

fuel consumption is not as good but the overall power and pickup is compensated.

the tank can hold much more petrol den wave. overall size is also much more stable den wave.

the price.. really depends.

The Wave is a Fun & really convenience bike, semi-auto best for causeway jams. The CBR150 is a sportbike fast & nibble - both are modern bikes, nice built-in lights & fairing, wif Superb FC & Cheap maintenance. Both bikes are made in Thailand, original parts are cheap & easily available. :goodluck: :goodluck:
