Dear all,

Bad news. I was involved in an accident last night around 12am with another bike. Fractured my collar bone and have many abrasions and cuts all over my body. As of now, got 10 days of hospitalization leave, gotta see a bone specialist and he will determine how many more days to extend my leave. In addition, have to go physio as well. *shakes head*

As for my bike, called up my motor diam to help me tow the bike back to check for what damages there are.

The other guy has a fractured forearm. He will get his friend to access his bike damage and will see how the settlement goes from there.

P/S: thisisme - won't be able to go change bulbs with u liaoz..

Everyone, please ride safely..

wa, seems like the roads now a days are quite harsh to us riders. that's another one of us this month. ride slow, everyone.

btw most likely whose at fault?

u go see legal thread.. for ur case hor, seem to be mc alot n specialist check up.. the insurance claim might be high if the other party is at fault.. thus no way he pte settlement can settle up till those kind of amount.. my point of view..

same goes if ur at fault how much dmg did he get.. if alot i think pte also not possible ba..

i agree with Don, seems like the damage to yourself and the bike quite a lot, probably makes more sense to claim than try to save the NCD. :faint:

hope u were wearing jeans if not the legs confirm get a lot of abrasion. remember to elevate ur legs if u're lying down, helps ease the pain.

hi for stock one heard is 7-8 dollar correct me if i am wrong why not changeto halogen bulb only 12

if at bike shop it'll probably cost about 6 bucks to change a bulb, but i'm 80% sure it's not honda original, cuz original cost rather expensive, i bought straight from FJT at 9 bucks each if i never remember wrongly. :faint: if the shop offers 7 bucks honda original 17.5W stanley bulb go change it!!

1st of all thx everyone for ur concern really..

now im resting at home, hand on a sling.. right collar bone fractured..

i was wearing bermudas and slippers on that very night..

but surprisingly, scratches weren't that many leh..

only a bit on the right knee and my left foot (inner)

but theres scratches on my right shoulder and right hand lor.. hands more than my leg..

As for my bike, the bike shop accessed my bike damages, they quoted me now repair cost ard $1.4k :faint: :faint:

they tell me 1 whole list of things thats damaged.. its ard 17items and out of this 17, some are those X2 one..

and a lot of these items i dunno what are they.. so i dun really know does it really cost that much or not..

and my bike is under 2nd party, so i cun make any claims to repair my bike..

have to fork out myself..

now really financial issues liao sia.. maybe not enough to repair my bike must leave it 1st repair in the next 2 months.. unless the bike shop let me pay in instalment or something..

and regarding the private settlement, the other day when we go A&E, i paid for the other guy, and also ytd i went to his house for him to sign an agreement and paid him $600.

Heres what happened the other day lah...

I wanted to turn right on a T-junction and he was coming straight.. but he kept to the left of his lane and i thought he was to make a left turn into the slip road (poor judgement). so i proceed on, but then realise he was actually not turning but was too late lor.. then tio..

my friend see liao he actually told me.. if we fight this case, its more of a i 60% he 40% fault.. cos he say true i proceeded and knock into him but he also should see me and do E-brake.

my friend did access his bike and suggested i pay him 500, or at most 600 max. medical and the rest all we dun cover becos i also kenna my bike very jialat and my own injuries lah..

but after going to the doc, i see his forearm also fractured, so i also felt sorry for him and i paid his A&E bill lor..

thats the whole thing..

Now, my main concern is my bike and my medical bills oni.. haiz.. really broke liao..

I seriously feel our bike is not very strong ah..

i was only travelling ard 50km/hr and after knocking into the other rider, SO MANY things spoil..

im not sure whether i can say the name of that shop.. but i din really see any negative remarks on that shop lor..

just that i dunno whether i can get any cheaper at other shops or not..

PM me the shop name ba, i know of shops that can do installment for repairs. alternatively, maybe u can repair slowly since on ur own expense and u won't be able to ride for a month or 2.

zed how r u feeling better r u back to work or still at home and have yr bike settle

i managed to ride out for checkup on monday. doctor says for bones to heal need at least 4 weeks, so i still got more rest to get. i have already changed my front tire to BT039 90/80 for $90 at Lee Huat. i know a bit ex, but i also got them to adjust and check everything else. i know my front mudguard bent and broken, and my forks alignment slightly off. other than that, bike is ride-able. i will need to get petrol soon, but a bit scared to go JB right now.

Posted

most important is the frame alignment, as long the chasis not damage, almost everything else can be repaired de. some stuff maybe u can save first, like fairing, if buy new set so expensive, if do patching urself or do a simple 1 color paintwork, not tt difficult wan, last time i do for my SP.

can do urself de do urself lor, no point u buang until so cham still let the shop tok u chui chui.

u gg slow but maybe the guy gg fast mah. Zhengyuan gf jia you!! keep us updated on his condition k? maybe we can drop by visit u sometime?

Zhengyuan's gf says:"Haha no probz, I'm fast becoming a pro forum poster =P"

I do not remember what exactly are the damages as most of the terms are alien to me. Names that I can remember are simple ones such as:

1) Visor

2) Meter gauge

3) Rim

4) Fork

5) Gear lever

6) Tail light

7) Headlight

8) Fairing

BTW, my tail light and right side fairing are missing, I left my bike overnight at the side of where the accident was together with the parts that fell out but when the motor diam went to tow my bike, the parts were all gone.

These are all that I can remember because they are just simple terms. As for all ur suggestions about doing parts by parts and also DIY, I'm not capable of it. Because now the bike so cui and I myself dunno about bikes, I dunno which one must do first, which one no need to do first and I also dunno how to DIY or which one can DIY, which one cannot.

Thanks for the concern but no need to take the trouble to come visit me la. I'm ok just resting at home doing nothing. =)

no wonder the repair bill is so high, u kena almost all the expensive stuff.

hope the motordiam wont chop u cause personally i find the story abt the missing taillight and fairing a bit fishy. :giddy:

Bro, i am against Don idea of doing insurance cause the premium will go up. Then the other party quite seriously injured. I'm sure that insurance will ask go see doctor take at least 3 days MC to claim medical. If more than 3 days MC, must inform TP and in this incident, lazy1000 is at fault, he will kena demerit if TP is informed.

No offence ah brothers, but this is what i know la... correct me if i am wrong.
