Interesting!

What else do I need to look out for? What about say when I wanna get a 2nd hand bike, any idea what type of things do I look out for in a CBR150?

look out for:

- leaks at the front forks (sit on the bike and press down the front forks w/ front brake engaged)

- any obvious scratches/dents/heavily corrosion on fairings, fuel tank, handle bar-ends

- any electrical issues (when bike engine is not running, horn should sound loud consistently. when engine is running, opening the throttle will result in headlight becoming brighter.)

- see if the bike engine can run stable enough at idling (rpm ard 1.5K and needle not fluctuating wildly. engine does not die off w/o throttling. temperature gauge should rise up slowly but not exceed >1/2 of the meter reading.)

- open and close the throttle & observe the rpm needle (the needle should move downwards once u close the throttle + move smoothly back to idling rpm)

- look out for common wear & tear parts (tyres, chain & sprocket, front & rear brakepads, clutch & throttle cable)

- engine should not have loud rattling noises after warming up.

thats all i can tink of in the meantime. :cheeky:

cheese04, i would advise u to keep looking around. 2 days after i passed my 2b, i went to a few shops first before seeing my love at first sight at BP. Not easy to find as compared to the other two-strokers, but like they say, sometimes u are meant to come across different bikes first before finally meeting the one, and it makes u appreciate her even more.

Hehe sorry, too sentimental alrdy :cheeky: Good luck in ur search!

i wanna ask u guys who had done buy/sell bike before something..

lets say to sell a bike to someone to COI. I actually read up from the forum lah.. now we are not able to do that officially.

what we can do is to put him as sub-rider then he will COI

so rightfully im the main owner but actually hes the one riding and paying..

so my question is.. how do u ensure that guy dun do anything funny, illegal stuff then deny everything...

become like i kenna cos in the eyes of the law, im the owner mah..

or we cun prevent this? and this is purely based on mutual trust???

Oh Yea!! Also, what will be the charges incurred?

like adding him in as a sub-rider.

Take note, I already have a named rider.. so I will need to change the sub-rider. Is this allowed and if yes, what will be the cost involved?

Congrats on passing your test now on to the bike... did you go and see the one I messaged you about before? Around that place last time saw quite a few but not all in good condition... buying off the forum also good idea or ask someone that knows to come along (not me, I only start 2 weeks ago  )

been getting quite abit of physical memory dump (blue screen of death) errors. suspect its either the RAM failing or the graphics card or both. :giddy:

why blame the hardware? could it possibly be down to WINDOWS?:giddy: :giddy: :giddy:

maybe its time to service yr rear brake system?

either the brake caliper seals are worn out or the brake pump is starting to show symptoms of failure.

not too sure if JB shops have got this parts available or not though.

:goodluck:

Can also check the wheel bearings. If you can move the wheel (and I don't mean around the axis) chances are your bearings are gone. To check this, must lift the rear wheel with a jack or something and try and shake the wheel by holding the tyre... dunno if this makes sense, difficult to explain with illustration:giddy:

this point belong to carb only? or any other related that might cause it..

heard initial idling aka rpm is towards our battery.. cos mine will flicker abit during the initial start up..

Thx for your advice.

However, I did service the rear brake once about 10mths ago, which is 2 months after I got this bike. After the service, the first day was good, but the second day onwards the sickness come back. I did change the brake pad at the same time.

Feel so annoyed and dono what to do, so I just leave it.

It makes my bike run very slow especially acceleration.

Last night, try out the speed limit, only can reach 130kph, trottle finish liao.

Btw, im not sure about the front brake, coz I dono how to spin the wheel. Hahahaha... Need 1 or 2 frends to carry my bike's front side, then I can try to spin. Nvr do b4. Haha...

Anyway, thx for your advice. Appreciate it.

Guys, ride safely. Road is not for playing.

How about the monitor? Did you ever try to use other CPU to run in the same monitor? Guess only, not very sure bout comp. Good luck. Cheers..

I think I know what you are asking me to do. But not sure what is the bearings? Is it some kind like the small bullets which is also used in bycicle? Can that be the problem?

What I guess is that the brake is too close (like squeezing) to the brake disc, but Im not very sure bout that.

Why not you try to spin your rear wheel? See whether it will spin very smoothly or not? If its not smooth, maybe its normal to be like this. Hahahaha.....

Btw, thx for your advice.

I thought this thing is depend on whether the bike engine is warm enough or not?

I set my bike rpm slightly below 1.5k, and it will always off when I start the engine in the morning. Any problem with my bike?

The other thing is that, if I run my bike slowly for a long time, the temp gauge will slightly more than 1/2. But if I run my bike at normal speed or faster speed, temp gauge will nvr go till half. Anything wrong with this?

Any kind experts to advice me? Thx in advanced. :)

OK, based on my limited experience with my current bike but 10 yrs experience of riding a small moped when I was a kid, a stuck rear wheel usually means one the of the following 3 problems:

1) your brake is stuck

2) your wheel bearings are history

3) your chain is too tight

I will rule out 4th option of your wheel not being aligned properly cause then your tire will blow soon enough. since you say you did your brake already, must be one of the other options. Btw, you DIY the brake or go to service?

Have not yet lifted my back wheel to check but should give my chain a lube soon so then will be first chance to check how smooth my wheel goes :)

DIY? I read the manual book of CBR125, it recommends not to DIY our coolant ler?

About the brake service, mech service for me. In fact I nvr DIY anything for my bike. No experience and afraid kena towed... Hahaha.... But seems like DIY is good for budgeting, so I will learn alot of things from you guys. Thx...

so Saturday you ok with the arrangements?

coolant quite straight forward to DIY. in a nutshell, just release old coolant, and top up with new.
