i'm still rookie, you have 20+ years of riding experience.

speak for yourself. =P

OK, minor correction. I have 10 odd years riding experience with 50cc moped including some interesting incidents and accidents (ever catch a rabbit in your front wheel or drive into the back of your friends moped cause he thought he'd give you a shock? some shock I can tell u :faint:

Btw, these experiences did teach me to: wear protection like padded jacket, gloves and FF helmet... that advice I can always share

Of course also have 15 off years car driving experience but that doesn't help me with riding/maintaining a motor bike ... much anyway

Yishun dam sounds like interesting place but can get a coffee there also or just ride around?

Derrick knows, but he's busy busy with his new job (understandable), and new 'project'-gf (not understandable; i told you so). =P

CDI is not difficult to replace.

just remove the fuel tank and it is something like a plug & play device.

unplug the old CDI frm the wire connector then plug in the new one + secure it well

:cheeky:

Jenga: maybe we can meet up on the friday evening or sat right before the trip? truth is i tink we just need some simple tools. for spark plug, i have the few tools required. any other parts u reckon we can DIY repair?

You do that a lot Zed, serenades? ROTFL...

do not judge a book by its cover.

talking about books, time to dig out my little red book and see which lucky girl i will entertain at this romantic spot...

Ben bought the very same side boxes in question.

with regard to the CF tank cover, is it just a design, or real CF?

tink it looks the same as the material used for the huggers u & derrick bought.

wonder where the previous owner of his bike got the tank cover from!

:cheeky:

anyway, u probably wont chalk up too much for expenses on spark plug + EO mah!

my calculation based on DIY: $4 (NGK CR8E) + $8 (Castrol Power 1)

throw in the fuel + makan cost at most set u back by $100.

:)

maybe i should tell you that i just spent $75 at Everfit for a new head cowl. my right side has been cracked since my last fall, and the plastics are starting to fall apart. and that's not under this month's expenses.

hmm... if it's the same as my rear hugger, then as i suspected, it's just a design, and not real Carbon Fiber. since nobody (i blame Derrick) supported to MO the CF-lookalike tank covers from Thailand, i went to make my own.

they're not much cheaper than Thailand's 1800THB, but at least i have piece of mind that they are the real deal.

Can a bike start the engine at below 1k rpm without getting stalled?

Guys, ride safely. Road is not for playing.

uncleLIM, 30th is it still ok?

May not be able to make this one. Needed to bargain for the April 6th trip. But might drop by shortly if its early afternoon. If its on Saturday (29th), then perhaps easier than Sunday (30th)...

Besides battery I may also need some help checking my box light which is not working:giddy:
