We solved Derrick's 'chek chek chek' with a cam chain tensioner change.

You might want to do yours too. 15 minute job, $26 before government profit.

i overhual my engine as my mileage had reached 70k++ already... visited 2 motordiam > planet and my fren's motordiam, both tell me... "It's time..." reason behind is because the engine arm holding the piston is loose already... den start motor got the "crank crank crank" sound @ idling

Overhual > changed piston & ring, rebore block, camshift & rod assembly...etc total = $480++ **heartbreaks**

whether or not should u go for overhual... i ask Ah Beng @ Planet... he told me if engine not emitting white smoke + dun have unsual sound @ engine... no really necessary to overhual engine... Or... unless u have too much cash u dunnoe where to spend... pls kindly made donation to "Help Denniz repair his bike" Fund... ur kind donation will be very much appreciated...:cheeky: :cheeky:

my exhaust emits white smoke, and my mileage is already 97k+.

just met zed a while ago, i forgot to tell him abt the white smoke thing.

zed, seems like overhaul will be a considerable measure to my problems. since i'm already patching so much and aesthetically enhancing so far, cant bear to trade it in even if i have a good option (unless its the expat-thai wife's new black one). makes less of a hole in the pocket too right?

why overhaul must leave there for a few days? cant they do it in one day? like, let's say i let them know in advance i'm gonna do it, they bring in the necessary parts, and i go down again to let them do it, all in a day?

and let's say i bring it to my shop to do it, will they accept the payment in installments? (though i very much prefer to get it done at shops that u guys have tried b4. i'm not completely trusting my shop anymore)

Planet... AH CHONG...! :thumb: if not look for Ah beng also... quite satisfied with his workmanship... he is the 1 whom i always noticed doing the r1s, gixxers and other bigger CC bikes' engine...

how many days leave there depends of wat is it going to be done on ur bike...

they probably need to open up the engine to see the extend of parts replacement required. there will be a confirmed list of items required in overhaul. but at the same time, some other items may have been wornout as well. hence, it doesnt save much time when they need to do a repeated trip to get items which they have left out in the 1st trip.

imagine doing a 1000pc jigsaw in a single day. can be done. but super time and energy consuming. :cheeky:

installment wise, applicable only to very selected shops bah. planet doesnt do installments. they only have a NETS machine to facilitate payment instead of u having to bring in a stack of cash~
