speaking of rain, i shall do a "Tip of the Day" too. I know as riders we hear this a lot, but i should just do a gentle reminder for all u boys and girls.

TIP OF THE DAY

1) Leave home early: so that u will not get stuck with the slow traffic, which is slow cos of the wet weather. This leads me to point 2. In the event u ARE late..

2) Take your time: better late than never. It's cliche but it's wise. I try not to look at my watch when I ride, so I wont panic and try to rush.

3) Don't squeeze: the roads are slippery, especially between lanes which we usually travel on. The lane markings are very slippery.

4) Dress appropriately: the weather is more unpredictable than a woman's pms. Sunny one minute, and stormy the next. I should know -- its worse than me during the time of the month. No flip flops ok? Sandals are still tolerable, but the best are those wet kinds that they use for wet sports, cos they will not flood your toes and still provide pretty good friction.

5) Don't SPEED!: u wont be able to stop in time, brembo or not. and if u skid, army boots also wont stop ur bike, or u, from crashing. Imagine if u skid while trying to stop at the traffic light. u will skid all the way to the middle of the inter-junction, cause a traffic jam, and slow down the already very slow traffic. Cable ski is available at East Coast.

6) Keep warm: bring a jacket wherever u go. Falling sick is not an option. The monsoon lasts for about 3 months ok. U can't keep falling sick for that duration.

7) Waterproof your stuff: put ur handphone, cigarettes, lighter, important documents, or ur lunch into a ziploc bag before putting it in ur bag/pocket. As per 'womanly' weather, u will never know when the heavens will unleash some lady wrath on u. So at least when u're soaked to ur socks and underwear, ur important belongings are still crisp and dry. Its terrible enough to have to endure the cold and sickening feeling of getting wet, imagine u cant call ur date/friends/office to tell them u have to stop under an overhead shelter cos the rain is too heavy some more. They will get worried cos they know u are a sportsbike rider in lousy weather. Your important documents get smudged, ur client 'fires' u, u lose ur job. All in 20 mins! And when u thought sh*t happens, u take out ur sandwich and u see a dripping sponge instead.

There you go. Wet, cold, hungry, worried abt, and unemployed. Gee, that sucks.

So boys and girls, that is my tip for the day, week, month, (monsoon) season, rest of ur life.

Ride safely. We're alrerady exposed to more danger than the drivers. Don't raise the level by riding even more recklessly. Sometimes, a little management of time and precaution is all that is needed to make a difference. Your parents didnt raise a child for 20+ years for him/her to get killed on the road ok?

happened to my old tyres when i just got my bike.. Cos my old rear tyre is i think IRC or something.. all i rmb was the is a MADE IN THAILAND at the corner...

cos i got the tyre then it is riding until botak.. when i was going at 70 or 80 like that, ON DRY ROAD on the center divider the rear can feel it sliped abit to the left.. cos i was banking right. lucky nothing happen.

after that, battalx, front 80/90 and rear 110.. woooo... great set of tyres, the tyres also work well when i'm on the lane markings.. no slip or anything. i lurb my bike n tyre dipdip! :lovestruck:

this is a very powerful sentence which i believe all driving centres should use as safety message.

a short trip to the market used to warm the tail section.

an island-wide trip would seriously heat up the tail badly.

now after a round-singapore trip, tail feels very very very very very very slightly warm only. kudos to everfit for sourcing for rare bulbs. LOL
