I just changed the DID X ring chain + sporket S$60 on 13 Nov at Unique Mortor.

But they gave 44 teeth instead of stock 43. now a bit slow lor..

 

Normally, need to ajust 3-4 weeks. If need every weeks , means , U need to changed new.

 

for Ajust chain, No need to pay at my workshop.. . but s$ 2 for other shop.

 

What u mean by slow? Lower top-speed isit?

 

Stock is confirm 44, not 43. I still hve my stock rear sprocket at home. Unless, different years have different spec.

 

I abit regret changing my rear sprokcet to 41teeth leh.. i wanan change it to 43 teeth. stock one is 44teeth... any advice for front sprocket? or keep same amt of teeth...

Since u know lot about bycicle, u should know what size u want for front as well as rear sprocket.

i just started my first day at work. clocked 13 hrs+! phew! tired as hell, lucky only 4 days a week. but the 4 days are irregularly scheduled, which is quite a good thing, or else, 4 days, 12 hrs, back to back = will die lor!

updates: my headlight havent change yet. EO havent change yet. installment havent pay yet. super broke now, cant afford any bloody thing. I hope my EO wont 'disappear' again.

 

anyway after every gear change, there is this 'clacking' sound (abt 3 or 4 times). seems to be coming from the bottom where the gear pedal is. any idea what that may be?

i did not pay my installment this mth, so can only do it next mth, so that will be 2 mths installment! (plus interest for late payment)

 

seems i will not get paid this mth, even if i do, it will be very little cos its nearing the end of the mth already.

 

so my first FULL pay will only be on the last day of dec, i believe.

 

and its a pay cut compared to what i used to get in the army. but the job is something i like, so i'm not entirely unhappy!

I am currently helping a friend by working at her student care centre as a mother hen. I do get paid, but upon seeing the kids, I think my friend cheated/saboh-ed me... In am so NOT having kids..

but the idea is that bigger front sprocket and smaller back means higher top speed but poorer acceleration and the reverse gives you better acceleration but poorer top speed right?

its good to be doing something u like.. congrats!!

but clocking 13hrs on the 1st day of ur job isn't healthy.. sometimes its ok to commit urself for work but not on the 1st day...

it may either tell ur boss u are very willing to OT (and u will see more of it thereafter), or..

ur boss may deem u as inefficient and cannot finish ur work..

I saw my previous one is 43 which i thought as stock coz i take over the bike since 13200km mileage.

Then , that's why they gave me 44 teeth lor, I knew now.. ha ha

anyway... slow means.. last time , i got 100km/7.5 rpm, 120km/9 rpm. now 100/7.6, 120/9.2. slow a bit..

he told me changing to lesser teeth means it will be harder for pick up.

 

but good if u are looking for maintaining top speed. i heard lesser teeth is easier on fuel too.

1...for 1 st hand bike.. cost ard 6k++, at least 2-3 ys dun need to change parts except tyre, plug EO.

After u ride 3 yrs, u sell coz so many reason, change bike, upgrade, etc.... ard 3-4 k depends on ur well maintainence. may b 2-3k. so lost ard 2-3k lor.. but u can ride on new bike.. great!!

 

2...for 2-3 yrs old bike... cost ard 3-4k, u need to change some part & overhaul or top service if previous owner dun change or dun maintained well. cost to u ard 1k. Then u ride ard 2 yrs. U will sell back....u can get ard 2k+.. U will b lost ard 2k..

 

3...for 4-.... yrs old bike... cost ard 2k. this time, u hav to pay ard this amount condition good or no good. U dun know condition mostly.. . depends on ur luck, u will meet major or minor repair.. cost ard 1k++. Then u ride till u want it. if u sell also , u can get back 1-2k.. u will b lost what u do repair & maintainence cost.

 

so , If u hav $$$, u get 1 st hand lor. Dun need to think about major repair. better for those who no experience & no time to care.

 

if u hav tight budget, go for state 2... U can get experience step by step n pay for it also .. ha ha ..

 

using for transportation, go for state 3.. That procedure is rotation lor. repair n ride n repair ride... LOL... suitable for experience rider who know what to do n how to repair..

What you said is very true actually my friend. But sometimes lucky owners [owners after me] get uber great deal of bargains from me.. Take my oldie rxk, i know there are some imperfections of the bike, so i sourced for nice parts, and pass it together to the new owner so he no need to wrry about kenna chopped into bits and made into soup.

 

As for people who have tight budget.. I would suggest you not buy a bike at all. Because buying a bike or car is not based on 'I calculated, after i spend for my bike i still can save $50 bucks..' kinda situation. Its based on "eh after CPf, and minus this and that, i still can survivie and left about few hundred $$"

 

Same goes for upgrading.. I also wanna buy S4 but the thing is i think of the 3.2L EO and the 4 spark plugs and for some of you all know I'm a very anal bike owner abit abit also cannot, end up for me will be one shot for maintenance will be up to several hundreds for the S4..

 

For my Xiao r, 1L eo, 1 plug. I wanna anal about things also very hard.. maybe anal about the colours of the screws i'm using.. lol and bearing in mind though our bikes are not really much seen OTR as S4, wave , sparks.. but our parts are relatively low cost... Imagine what happens when i melted the headlight of S4 or my tyre of S4 botak and i wanna change into battalx tyres?

 

so.. thats what i think lor.. As for now Je sui etudion et Np [i'm a student @ NP].. I still have about 2 months before my attachment ends.. and when it ends my 500 montly will be gone.. thats why now I'm trying to save for for Annual year 2009's insurance and Roadtax.

 

S4 aint gonna be cheap.. though u have the power and the Vtec.. but as for now, as a no income student, i think i should not upgrade first ba. Same goes to most students out there, unless your mommy n daddo are giving u quite a fair bit a month.

Lets see. S4, inline 4 engine, 3.2L EO and 4 plugs.

 

Plugs = $8 X 4 = $32 [relatively good NGK plugs]

EO = $ 23 X 4 = $96 [Maxima EO i think is ultra one..]

 

total: $128

 

 

Ok xiao R cbr 150

 

Plugs = 1 x $20 = $20 [those branded, already kena ketok by shop plugs]

Eo = $23 x 1 = $ 23 [same same as s4 la maxima one]

 

total = $43
