Oracle sends an individual cardboard laptop

By Joshua T

Long term I.T. news readers would have remembered Microsoft's strange anti-piracy campaign aptly named "rock-in-a-box", encouraging I.T. honest citizens to use it to stone software pirates to death -- simply speaking, to actually do that to those who were involved in disseminating illicit copies of Microsoft apps.

Some years later, Oracle marketing department has seen the need to do something, albeit useless, to the company: By sending people laptops made out of cardboard:

"Dear Oracle, Please reduce your marketing department's cocaine ration." was Andy's reply when he got this 3-dimensional looking thing that he could offer his hamsters a source of warmth instead of his home fireplace.

It was understood that Oracle began to mail cardboard laptops to certain personages of distinction, with the intention of bringing down the important message of "Information Rights Management" (or as we like to call it, Super Duper computer Security) to consumers / companies / schoolmarms.

Users who have received the laptops say the new systems are lightweight and stylish, although there have been complaints regarding the lack of an optical drive, screen, memory, trackpad, battery, motherboard, and processor.
