Hi guys, im a student. 19 this year. Currently im taking the class 2b and right now im waiting for my tp which is on the july 24th. Ok so now i have this question that is bothering me and that is:

1) Let's say i dont have any money with me right now but i wanted to buy a class 2b bike, is it possible to get a loan or something?

2) ive googled about the bike insurance and mostly it states that u must be 25yrs old and above to apply. So which means i cant get any insurance for my bike?

Sorry for being a noob. Fyi, i dont have any friends or relatives who took class 2b. Im the only one who took bike license and the rest is car. I would appreciate it if u could give me some help and advice me on what to do. Btw im aiming for the nsr150

There are insurances that provide for below 25 years old. Explains how people can start riding at 18. It's illegal to be on the road without insurance.

Yes it is possible to get a loan from a bike shop.

When buying a bike, you almost always have to put a downpayment, then pay by installment. Of course if you don't understand this concept, you can always ask for a breakdown/process from a sales person.

Of course, I would say its better to pay in full if you have the cash to save the hassle of paying installments as well as the interest incurred.

Online services will normally only quote for >25yo. Below that you'll need to go to the shop and get the quote directly. No big problem..

1.Its possible for you to get a loan from the shops.Amount would vary from shops to shops. The most you loan, the longer or more you have to pay monthly.

2.Call/Email AXA,Income. They'll need your date of passing, bike make and what type of insurance you're planning to get. Comprehensive,3rd party fire&theft or just 3rd party.

If you are new,i would suggest getting a 2nd hand bike.Either from another owner or bike shop.Reason being 1.The chances of you dropping the bike is high as you're new 2.The COE(self explanatory) sgbikemart is a good website to browse for bikes. There are also some Facebook pages where bike owners are selling their bikes off.A simple search around would suffice.

You wrote that you're looking for a SP.that would be a 2nd hand already.

And getting a bike with fairings at your age,the insurance would cost a bomb.

Get your licence first.

The how to buy bike and get insurance are secondary.

Buying a bike when you dont have money is irresponsible especially in this high cost society we live in.

Dont make that mistake. Save up and then buy a bike.
