we had just discussed abt ur fender the other night......

rov eyes so sharp huh... maybe u can write in a letter to appeal?

take a photo from orginal fender to prove that not much material left below the number plate......also can tell them that the original fender does not allowed this approved pipe to be fitted together...

During my days workin at a motor shop, the requirements of a rear fender is to cover at least half of the rear tyre by LTA before it is approved on our roads. It goes the same for all bikes doing Batch Approval (normally used for parrallel import bikes) or Type Approval (normally bikes brought in by agent). So what we did was just to extend the rear fender. The bike looks ugly with our own version or modification but this was the only way to pass. My friend showed me a picture of a K5-1000 when it was recently launched. And just to pass the inspection, he used a very long cardboard taped to one end of the original fender so that it extended all the way down half the tyres.

then when time comes for yearly inspection...how to pass with the ORIGINAL design of de bike?

 

gosh....LTA ruling is OLD siahz....we aint in the 80s where bike comes with semi-circle rear fender...chome somemore.:sweat:

Yearly inspection will not be a problem as long as the orignal rear fender is still intact. The inspection which i described is only to meet our local authorities demands so that at least, if there's any complaints, they have it in black n white.

shark - ya lor...saw the "long fender" b4...but thats like 8yrd ago liao...now still liek that...haizz...they never improve in efficient but bike got upgrade & radar gun equipmetn new new....sigh.:sian:

eh.. fyi, when u go for inspection to get the cert for your pipe, they only inspect ur pipe, they dun care if other parts of the bike fail.

so in this case for the Laser....the fender eilmentor comes with de pipe....then how?

 

pass or fail? cos..the stock fender cant be fitted back with de laser liao.:sweat:

Maybe can try taking 10am and 12pm with 1 hr rest in between, that's wat i did the other time. Felt much better after the break. Maybe first time go, that's y damn shag.

I took less than 10mins to clear the queue at sgp custom at 8am+, not that bad. Maybe a little tough if u are in full suit, but definately still bearable. Making the detour all the way via 2nd link is damn far for me, staying at AMK anyway. Hope it helps.

this week my work is loaded...with countless sleepless nite...i cant ensure i will wakeup early.

 

custom clearing is so so much easy with bike then car....lolz :sweat:

the pipe is only tested for road legal , so the original fender can't fit back on .you need to write to LTA for them to do a inspection of it and see weather they issue you a letter for it

but since the rear fender were inlcude in the exhaust package + the stock 1 cant be used.

 

aint it the seller's job to get it legalise with the local auth ? then...whats de point of having a legal exhaust but illegal rear fender? :confused:
