Serious meh, once a year for retifier too? Before i sold my Fireblade, i changed a new retifier cost abt $35. What will be the price like for a 03RR

During that time, the retifier on both my bike fried(almost on the same week), later i discover it was caused by those cheap multi colour voltmeter...the retifier on my other bike cost $580, once in a lifetime ball-banging experiences! :giddy:

On average, I think models from those years would take average about a year or so for the rectifier to die down. I dunno what the causes are but last time, I did a headlight switch for my RVF (think the headlight uses up most voltage) can tahan 1 yr 3 months. My current 6RR'04 model: another 3 weeks will be exactly 2 years old & I haven't change battery, rectifier nor any fuse. I'm clocking almost 50,000km with it & the next thing I [lan to do is just the valve clearance :thumb:

sigh.....i wanted so much on the moviestar paintwork..till i saw the actualy unit.:faint:

the moviestar RR has matt silver color frame/body while the normal RR has black power-coated frames.

so even with makeover paintjob...it still dun look like a original moviestar edition.:nono:

but the new 06 1k RR race paintwork is nice...front red & fade to white.:bounce:

I see.

Mine is a 03 model the previous owner had already done up with the headlight switch. Netural light shines and bright, but during the starting part, it requires between 1 to 3 attempt. Very dependent on its moods. Hope the heritage of the 1K RR's starting coil does not recurr on my old machine...

pillow - so ur paintwork done liao? how was it? got take any photo of the overall workmanship anot? :cheeky:

i only resprayed portion of my left fairin.

did duty the previous day so kinda shag & tired.

started my bike & pushed it frm walkway onto road (inside camp).

stepped on the grass patch, slipped & fell.

the roadside curb damaged my left fairin although i have the front & back sliders.

sianZ 10x...

my damaged fairin are where they drilled the frame sliders with the red "CBR" logo.

tat original piece alone cost abt $400!

might as well respray it.

done mine at Replica for $70, quite satisfied.

becoz i didnt left my bike there, he was unable to compare the alignment.

mechwira -- betta call up em to check.

i guess if you only touch up the scratched part, might result in 2tones leh.

if ur time allows, ride down & ask the boss in person. will provide u optimum solution.

alvzz -- i suggest you ride down too. buyin oem fairin very pricey!

mine oso kena the curb. i checked and saw that the bottom part of my slider visible scratched, so while i'm dam sad my fairing now damaged, i shudder to think the damage had the slider not been there, like my first drop.

thanx for ur info, can i just ask, ur bike oso u did minor touch up of some spots onli? u never leave ur bike there, so how long he take to complete the job?

thanx a lot, i'd like to check out Alvzz's shop and yours too, urs sound better if he can do it in less than a week.

i took out the damaged piece (with the red CBR logo piece) & left it there.

took him abt 3days to complete.

might be i'm lucky tat he's willin to rush it for me.

he told me luckily i never scratched the CBR wordins coz it'll be more troublesome.

resprayed the entire piece less CBR wordins & had it lacquered thoroughly.

the original finish have this linin feelin when you run your hands down the silver/black part but resprayed type cant feel it.

Did your 600RR5 headlight have the problem of water condensation & fog up when after some time you switch off the engine?

Anyone go for warranty claim or any idea how to resolve this?

Thanks!

mine sometimes... guess it should be alright bah.

runnin on h7 headlight bulbs.

dun notice the condensation effect on the original philips bulb.

maybe caused by atmospheric effect??

wat bulb you usin?

oh. well i might have a prob then.

coz i realize the side of my front cowl under the signal light also very visible scratches.

so technically i've got 2 cowl panels to spray, if i decide to respray entire panel.

which means he probably charge more. and if i have to leave my bike there for several days, unless i wanna ride around in a naked streetfighter CB600-R Hornet II.

btw, original cowl can feel the 'lining effect' of the black part coz its black vinyl sticker on silver paint lacquered over. i guess ur current cowl now is black painted.

thanx Alvzz and pillow, i'll be checking out ur contacts.

wat kind of E.O are you peepz using?

my mileage abt 13 oredi, wondered if anyone took out the air filter for a quick blow to clear the dust etc.

at 20k, will change the air filter to another original one.

save the hassle for the need to buy pc + bmc filter.

KNN filter is worth considering bro. Not too ex but it helps enchance the richness of the airflow! Fuel is nothing without sufficent oxygen :thumb:

Some geography facts, in europe the temperate countries have cooler air and low humility. In contrast, local tropical climate have lower atmospheric pressure resulting in warmer climate and higher humility thus reducing o2 in the air.

With our enviromental conditions, u can safely take off 5 to 10% horsepower from the manufacturer specs. It applies all vehicles in Spore, regardless make or model.

We can't change the weather, but we can go for KNN :cheeky:
