Is there a power cut ? example cant go any higher den certain speed or power totally cut off and bike needs to be restarted?

the jap version has a power cut, but i dun think this version is imported here as nobody mentioned any speed limiter. either that or the shop has removed it.

there is a 'rev limiter' though. once you hit redline, it will shut off as if you abruptly turned off the throttle. but considering in 1st gear u hit redline only past 150kmh, i dun see how this wld pose any problem, as a simple upshift will avoid the rev limiter entirely.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

If i change to a street legal exhaust with maybe a KNN filter, need a PC3? and if dun install PC3 is there any side effects? Also changing to a street legal exhaust ,i read from one of the threads in here, the cpu will read it as errors or something? can i have some valuble information?

Thanks to all.

Regards

LF

They should go along. Although i dont see much negative effects unless u are running too lean/rich.

I ran my bike (micron slip on) without a PC3 for more than a year. And after i got it installed, only then i realised the real power my machine had. I recommend getting a PC3 even without an aftermarket pipe. If u want another pipe, factor the cost of a PC3 in.

Get new gaskets for ur pipe too. They DO make a difference.

Thanks MECHWIRA AND ENJOY but just wan to ask mechwira u mention about abruptly close throttle, what do u mean? you mean like we close throttle or the engine switch off?

this is what happens.

as you drag your bike up the rpm range on an open throttle, when the needle hits the redline, even though you maintain an open throttle, the bike suddenly feels as if you have abruptly closed the throttle and hard engine brake comes on. the feeling of the bike is exactly as if you drag the rpm to 15,000 and then quickly close throttle. the engine does not switch off, the bike continues running except it is doing an engine brake like as if you closed throttle.

and like i said, for road use this is never ever an issue. i bet rr owners who so far have used the bike for 100% local commuting have never felt this, coz its quite mad to run your rpm this high even in first gear. if you're touring up north and can run at higher speeds, this is very simply avoided by just kicking up next gear, and chances are you wont feel it either. if you're on track and you're hardcore enough then mebbe it'd be an issue. if you're hardcore enough.

just to clarify: i didn feel it coz i ride hardcore or wat, its coz i accidentally dragged first gear longer than i should along the final straight in PG.

HI mechwira,oh i get your point, which means it only applies to 1st gear as i was tinkin if on NS Highway and u lets say try to hit top and surely goes to redline and whether if it will have tat effect.

last time on gixxer 750 bumblebee and rvf when i hit top,it jux goes to top speed reading and the needle jux reverse and i throttle it goes up den hits max and reverse again and keeps on goin lik tat so i know that speed is e limit.

So wondering if e new 600 wil have e same effect.

aiyah lately a lot of things i say ppl misunderstand :cheeky:

i believe it happens at ALL gears, not just first. wat i mean is i only experience it in first gear; on track beyond 1st gear i dun have the balls to redline

maybe at higher gears where there is less torque, it will happen like you describe; the needle climb back down without any noticeable engine brake. then again, this fren dat time went track wif me had just downgraded from an R1 to a cbr600f4i told me he was shocked to feel the rev limiter coz on his R1 there was no abrupt cut. and since this is my first big bike, i cant compare wif other bikes, i can onli describe wat i expereienced.

and :btw: i especially wont noe how it behaves when trying to hit top, coz all i dare is bring to 202kmh on secondlink bridge before my personal 'brain-and-balls limiter' kick in  mebbe the others who have tried can describe better

just like to check with you the shop that you went for the wheel bearing is K.. at ubi

aiyah... another miscommunication....

the rev restriction is precisely wat i've been describing. once you redline, the throttle shuts off by itself.

and no the shop i went is at "village of the damned". i shd have gotten a second opinion at k&t.

not sure how rev cut for RR7 works but on de RR5/6. the rev counter just bounce down & can feel that the ignation has been cut-off cos speed slows down.:dozed:

I try not to drag first gear unless it's the start of a race. Anyways, when you come out of the last turn into the front straight, you should have been at least been in gear 2 right

dats why i say hitting the rev limiter was an 'accident', coz i dun usually drag the 1st gear like that. i haven hit the rev limiter since.

but it a danger to use 1st gear in track.the torque is so huge that it may induce a flipover which usually refer as high-side.

infact,2nd gear at high rpm are having same effect too.:cheeky:

watch the gearing & it related speed & u shd be fine.

o0 ignition cut off????? OMG then it would be a danger if your on top speed and behind there are vehicles coming at you on high speed as well.

I dragged 3rd gear once at the back straight & the shift light came out after some time.Does this mean that it's being over-revved? Or is it time to change gear?

not really danger like u mention la.just either;

1.up 1 more gear(if any)

2.close throttle slightly for the RPM to drop below the red zone

and u will be fine...the "ignition cut" feeling are so short...unless a car is also MATCHING the same speed and right behind u la.:cheeky:

from what i gather on the user manual. our RR "lite" is a rev limit lite.

so it not "really a shift lite lor.

usually after turn#1? i can use up to 4th gear then drop to #3 & clear the turn#2 under 140km/hr on de RR w/o much issue lor(subject to rider) :sian:

once the lite "pop"...it time to up shift liao.:cheeky:

u will have to ride it to feel it lor.

almost all bikes rev cut are built such a way that when the RPM needle is in the red zone...the ignition power is cut-off to prevent demage to the engine.

"ignition cut-off" is not equal to "engine shut-down".

hope that cast some light for you.

ignition shut off not = to engine shut down??

Bro ignition shut off means engine turn off liaos leh.

Exact term is no combustion or fuel is stopped feeding to the engine.

Or are u trying to say some thing else?

By e way no offense as just want to know honda cbr better.

Bro it just acts as a safety feature on the bike. If I'm not mistaken, most bikes will have this too, not just the Honda.
