Michelin is recalling two makes of motorcycle tires, sold in Canada and the U.S., because of a tread defect, the company said Friday.

The recall applies to the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT and Pilot Power 120/70 ZR 17 tires.

Consumers should check the side of the tire for a "Made in France" label and either of the following codes: DOT 6UCW 980T or DOT 6UCW 979T.

No associated injuries or instances of pressure loss have been reported to the company.

Michelin has not said how many tires are involved in the recall.

Consumers should contact the company for a replacement

they dont seem to mention exactly wats wrong with the tread. i'll go check when i next go my bike.

but even if my tyres are affected, wat recourse do i have? do we have an official michelin office to go to? coz i doubt the shops are official distributors for michelin. change tyre with my own money? :giddy:

Hi guys, i'm riding a 04 cbr600rr and wanted to change the battery for my bike. Does anyone here know roughly how much does the original Yuasa battery cost for cbr600rr?

cant remember if i was quoted 40 or 60, but the weird thing is the yuasa is actually taller than the original yuasa-honda that came with the bike. i had to take a smaller sized yuasa. interested to noe if same case with ur '04.

That happened to me as well. It wasn't able to fit the taller size one and ended up i got to take the original Yuasa-Honda battery which i paid for $150.

I was shocked after knowing the battery actually costs $150 which was much more expensive than a car battery.......

either u change to a "smaller" size battery...or buy the original HONDA-Yuasa battery.

the standard Yuasa with the SAME model code cant fit...:dozed:

end of day...i get back the original 1.:giddy:

Get the Taiwan made battery from FJT, only $50. When the battery is low, it beeps. I installed it on my 1000RR, so far no problems.

1000RR coil issues have been solved, BS has already issued a recall and is giving an extended 7 years warranty.

i just checked my tyres. indeed they're made in france, but i dun see any of the numbers quoted by the article for the recall. in fact the numbers i see dun even resemble the configuration of the quoted numbers. and i took down all numbers i could see, to the extent i was jotting down "T...U....B....E....L..." then stupidly realized its the 'tubeless' label. cartoon.

i installed super4 sized batt. think size 7 or something. no issues.

after all, it was the original yuasa-honda size 10 then died on me after just 6 months.

In the range of $130-$140? I bought for Uncle Superbike late last year & its quite advisable you get the original same one as it can tahan longer. In fact, my original battery has been inside my bike for the last 3 years! :cheeky:

does the recall cover for parallel importer units as well?

Nopey. Priorities still go to the BS-registered ones foist

priorities? that means after they finished with the BS units then they will start replacing coils for the PL units?

aiyah die. i finally found the correct serial number and it matches the number quoted in the article. my front tyre is part of the batch of recall.

now how ah?
