The speed difference due to sprocket change is nt reflected in the speedo if you do not have a calibrator. With the 03 to 07 having the same internal gear ratio and redline, the speed displayed when at rev limiter should be the same.

Thats for the speedo.. But does it effect RPM too?

You mean sprocket change affecting rpm? No. RPM is accurate regardless of sprocket size. I'll quote an example.

cbr600rr A has stock 16/42 sprocket size. cbr600rr B has 16/45 sprocket. When both bike in gear 1 at redline, their rpm are accurate and really at 15k. Their speedo will also both read the same (around 120.5km/h). However, bike B's actual speed is actually only 112.5km/h due to the error induced by the sprocket change.

150kmh? I can only squeeze out 120kmh on my first for my 04.

120kmh? no way. i can definitely pull beyond 120kmh in first. did it several times at pg start-finish straight. plus occasionally pull 1st gear on local roads, 120kmh is only bout 12k rpm. still another 3.5krpm to spare before redline, and it just hit peak power rpm.

but i do notice that its easiest to hit this speed in 1st gear if i drag from standstill. a few times i kick down from 2nd gear to 1st, the bike's speed seems 'stuck' at ~110kmh.

and the rev-limiter that i felt was really a 'kick' sort of feel, not a simple matter of bike no longer increasing rpm/speed. but its not that dangerous coz when rpm drop back below redline, bike continues going like normal, so the abrupt speed reduction is only for a split second, but still abrupt enough for me to describe it as a 'kick'. not sure if its same as super4. i never ride class2a before.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

I don't like to drag at first gear. For me, my personal rule is basically

1st gear = moving off. If I drag, it'd be 2nd gear onwards.

Scared gear-box spoil la :cheeky:

As I said, If you don't have a speedo calibrator, what is shown on the speedo is not your actual speed. The speedo will always show you the same speed given the same gear and rpm, regardless of whether you have 15/45 or 16/42. If you can only hit 245km/h ON THE SPEEDO after the sproc change, most prob you only hit 13k+rpm. Why is that so? Maybe you change to much smaller rear sprocket and no longer have enough torque, or maybe your fuel line is pinched, or maybe your fuel pump is weak.....

Anyway this is a chart I came out with if you wanna know your estimated actual speed.

how's the outing ???

There is someone out there for me

I know there is someone out there

I know she is waiting so patiently yeah

Can you tell me her name?

(Somebody tell me her name)

This life-long search is gonna drive me insane

How does she laugh?

How does she cry?

What's the color of her eyes?

Does she even realize I'm here?

Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?

Where is this beautiful girl?Who is she? Who is she?

Who is gonna complete my world?

[Maybe you change to much smaller rear sprocket and no longer have enough torque, or maybe your fuel line is pinched, or maybe your fuel pump is weak]

>>> my sprocket size is 15/44

in my opinion...this size is gd for track days.

gd pick-up....gd midrange....but lose on top end..

thought of resizing back to 16/44..

as for fuel line n fuel pump being pinched or weak..im not sure leii...

how to noe ehh....nvr open on my own..

With your present sprocket size, you wouldn't have any problem reaching redline. If you can't, get your bike checked by a mech.
